2 hours later
It has been hours since we got here at the hospital. I'm worried about the woman we brought in. I hear something and lift my head up. The doctor walks over and I get up. "Are you thinking young lady who brought the blonde haired woman in?" He asks. "I am. Is she okay?" I ask. He nods. "She will be okay. She has a broken rib and internal bruising." He says. I nod. "I suspected that. She hit a tree pretty hard. I knew it had to of broke something." I say. He nods. "Come on. She has been asking for you." He says. I nod and we follow him. He leads us to a room and the woman lays there in a bed. When she sees me her eyes light up. I walk over and she grabs my hand. "Thank you so much for helping me. If you and your friends had not been there the invisible man would have killed me. I thank you." She says. I smile and nod. "I'm glad to have helped. I hate seeing other people hurt." I say. She looks peaceful and happy. "What is your name?" She asks. "Estelle." I say. "Mine is Graceland." She says. I smile and nod. "It is a pretty name." I say. She smiles and squeezes my hand. "Estelle we should get going. Eve just texted me." Cassandra says. I nod. "Okay. Graceland you have nothing to worry about. Everything will be okay." I say. She nods. "I believe you." She says. She let's me hand go and I follow Cassandra out. I sigh and we leave the hospital. "Well it is good she will be okay." Cassandra says. I nod. "Yes it is. She will take time to heal emotionally but she can do it. I can tell she is a strong spirited person." I say. She nods and we keep walking. We soon get to the park and find the others. "You wanted us?" Cassandra asks. Eve nods. "There is a lead." She says. She points to a symbol on the ground. I look at it and gasp. "What?" Ezekiel asks. "It is ancient Greek." I say. "What does it say?" He asks. "It is the symbol for death." I say. Stop looks at me. "Wait I can read Greek. I've never seen this before." He says. I sigh. "This symbol dates back to times long ago. You have heard of Hercules right?" I ask. He nods. "This is a symbol from around that time period." I say. He seems shocked. "That can't be right." He says. I take my bag from my back and open it. I grab the book I need and return my bag. I open the book and flip to the pages. "Here it is." I say. I show the book and he seems shocked. "Well then. That is incredible." He says. I nod. "The one who wears the ring is dangerous. Whatever happens we must be careful." I say. He nods. "We will." He says. Footsteps come towards us. Looking up I see an unknown man. "Hello there. You seem to be lost." He says. "Not at all. We aren't looking for anywhere." Eve says. He nods and his eyes land on me. "You a pretty young lady." He says. I back away and stay slightly behind Eve. Eve strps forward. "Don't even dare!" She warns. He puts his hands up in defense. "Whoa I'm not going to do anything." He says. She backs down and nods. "Good. One think I don't tolerate is someone harming my friends." She says. It makes me feel warm inside being called her friend. "I have no intention of harming anyone." He says. She nods. "Good." She says. He holds a hand out. "Tyson." He says. "Eve." She says taking his hand. They shake hands and he smiles. "Well if you ever need anything at all just let me know. I know everything about this town and where everything is located." He says. "Thank you." Stone says. He nods and leaves. He seems to look at me as he does. A slight smirk on his face. He walks off and I get a weird feeling. Eve's phone starts ringing and and answers it. She walks off as she talks to whoever it is. Once the call I over and walks over. "Jenkins just called. He needs you to come back to the library Estelle." She says. I am confused and tilt my head. "What?" I ask. She shrugs. "Not sure why. Cassandra go with her." She says. She nods and the two of us walk away. We get t the place our door is going to be and open it. We walk through and stumble into the Library. "Cassandra you may go back. I need Estelle alone." He says. She nods and hugs me. She leaves and I turn to him confused. "Jenkins?" I ask. He tosses me a phone and I barely catch it in time. "My number and the others are all in there." He says. I am confused by this. "Couldn't this wait?" I ask. He nods. "That yes. Only what I called for you to come is different. I called your doctor." He says. I tense up worried. "Why?" I ask. He walks over. "I was curious about why you cried out last night several times. Then Eve told me about how you acted when the young lady was attacked." He says. I look down sadly. "Jenkins please don't start asking and everything." I beg. "I already have. He told me about you having a rough childhood." He says. I look up at him and tense up. "Jenkins please. I don't want to to talk about it." I say. He lays a hand on my shoulder. "Keeping it a secret won't help. We are here to help each other. Eve created a no secrets policy. That means keeping secrets isn't allowed." He says. I grit my teeth. "I'm not telling anyone anything. My past is none of anyone's business. It isn't something I want everyone to know." I say. He gives a worried look. "Estelle you don't have to be worried or scared of anything. Everyone here has a past. Not a single one will judge you for it." He says. I look at him almost in tears. "You don't understand Jenkins. I was only three when I was taken. I finally got away when I was fifteen. I spent twelve years in that horrible place. It is not something that is easy to talk about. It isn't something I am able to just tell others about without a second thought. It hurts to think and talk about it." I say. He pulls me close and holds me. "I understand. I won't press any further. Just know I am here when you are ready. Eve, Cassandra, and maybe the guys as well. We are all here for you and always will be." He says. I nod my head and he let's me go. He holds his hand up and it has a few of my medicines in it. "I have a schedule of your medicines." He says. I groan and take them. He hands me a cup water and I take the medicine. "I really hate this. It doesn't help me at all." I say. He sighs. "Yes medicine tends to be a bit foolish. Then again to an immortal most things like that are foolish." He says. I look at him as he turns and walks away. "Jenkins." I say. He hums. "Yes?" He asks. "Have you ever went through something and wish you could forget about it?" I ask. He freezes. "In fact I have." He says. I rub my arm. "What did you do to make the memories go away?" I ask. He sighs and his head drops some. "Memories never completely go away. You can try your best to forget but it will simply cause it to be much worse. You must first accept what happened and then let it go. You can't hold onto the pain and hurt. That will simply cause more trouble and problems." He says. He starts to walk away. "Jenkins!" I call. "Yes Estelle?" He asks. I hesitate. "I'm sorry for being rude. I am not trying to be. I'm just not used to this. I'm scared and I have no clue what to do. This is all new to me. I never have been good with new people or new things. Please forgive me." I say. He comes this way again and lifts my head. "You have nothing to apologise for Estelle. I understand you are scared and I don't blame you. Being in new surroundings like this after being in isolation going through who knows what. It is normal to be scared. I'm here to help you and be here for you." He says. I hug him and bury my head against him. "Thank you so much Jenkins!" I say. "You are welcome." He says. He hugs me tightly and rubs my back. Suddenly a phone rings and he quickly answers it. "Hello?" He asks. "Of course. She will be right there." He says. He hangs up and turns. "Eve needs you back there." He says. I nod and head to the door. It opens and I go to walk through. I pause and look at him. "Thank you Jenkins. Talking to you really helped." I say. He nods with a smile. "Glad to be of some help. Now if you wish we can talk more after this job is done." He says. I smile. "I may take you up on that offer." I say. I then step through the door. Once I am through I am met by Stone and Ezekiel. "You are back. Great!" Stone says. I am confused by this. "It seems Cassandra is the next target. She has been being hit but no one is near her." He says. My eyes grow wide. We run outside and see Cassandra and Eve together. Cassandra suddenly falls like someone kicked her. I run over and kneel down. "Cassandra?" I ask. She groans. "I'm okay!" She says. "Watch your backs. You both will be next." A voice says. She looks at me worried. "You heard that right?" She asks. I nod. "Hear what?" Eve asks. I help Cassandra stand. "A voice said we were next." She says. "So whoever it is, is targeting out group?" Ezekiel asks. I shake my head. "Not all of us. Just me and Cassandra." I say. He looks at me. "How can you be sure?" He asks. "Well the voice said you both not you all or the five of you." I say. He nods. "Okay that makes sense." He says. I put pieces together and think of a plan. "If we can figure out who it is then we can keep them from harming me or Cassandra or anyone else." I say. "Easier said than done Estelle. The man is invisible." He says. I smile and hold my arm. "There is a trick I learned years ago to see the unseeable." I say. They seem confused. Cassandra suddenly starts bouncing. "Is it magic?" She squeals. "Oh no! No magic!" Eve says. "Don't worry. It isn't magic. It is seeing without using your eyes. It is a lot like how blind people go about their lives." I say. "So practically using our other senses to see what's around us." Stone says. I nod smiling. "Exactly!" I proudly say. "It won't work. There isn't any way." He says. "If that is true then I won't be able to dodge you coming at me with my eyes covered." I say. "Let's do it then." He says. He ties a class over my eyes and I'm unable to see at all. He steps backwards and i focus my senses. Instead of using my eyes I see him using the sound around me and the smells around me. I see him coming towards me from the left and I step aside. I can tell the others are all shocked by this.
