Epilogue

"What did you do Elizab- " I shoved random clothes in my black duffel bag, feeling a sense of regret and remorse. "I had to do it. I didn't really shoot him anyways. I simply swung a gun to his head." I shrugged, going in the toilet to get a tooth brush and tooth paste. He's going to be up soon and I'm not going to be there when he is.

I'm doing what I was always do.

Run away.

"Elizabeth" My mom held a firm grip on my arm, making sure we were looking at each other. "Stop it. Your dad is still in prison. His gang hasn't done anything yet right? We could hire a professional bodyguard for now." Her eyes were giving a pleading look as she said tiredly.

She didn't know that they had done something already. I will not give her anymore stress. "Why did we come back here in the first place" I asked her tiredly, giving her my full attention. She brought her hand over her face, letting out a tired sigh. I noticed the bags in her eyes and I couldn't help but feel guilty about it. She works so hard despite the terrible things that happened to us. She looked at me, her brown eyes has lost the light in them, her skin evidently aging and white hair showing. She really doesn't deserve this.

"Because I'm tired. I'm tired of running away" She sat down on the edge of my bed. I felt my body shut down with her as she said this. "I too am tired of running away mom"

It's been 4 years, now at the age of 20, I live alone in a small apartment in Canada with my new adopted dog, Spencer. I work as a waitress by day and a cashier lady by night in a small supermarket.

After leaving mom, I carried such a heavy weight and I still do have that feeling sometimes. I haven't been in touch with her. I miss her terribly.

As for what happened with Kristofer before, I heard searched for me around that area but stopped when he didn't find me. He found a job in Cali instead of going to Uni. How'd I know this? V. She would come here sometimes and visit me.

She found me last year when I was serving food in the small diner. I got myself a long ass lecture but its good to have someone I know still in my life.

Dingdong

That's probably V. Probably finished her classes in Uni. I didn't bother looking through the peep hole. Spencer started barking. Usually he would run up to the door earlier than me. He likes her.

She might have brought someone with her. I opened the door and saw the last person I thought I'd see.

"Dad?"

The end

Terrible ending I agree but I thought I'd leave it that way so that way you can imagine your own scenarios and all. Yay! Next time I'm writing a book, I promise it'll be simpler.
