Chapter Eleven | Agree To Disagree"Stupid."
"You're daddy."
"You're grandma."
"You're grandpa."
"Grow up you two!" Headmistress Reeves slammed a manicured head on her mahogany desk causing Asher and I to jump in our seats that were placed directly in front of her. She seemed to always have a permanent scowl attached onto her weathered features and a temper that was too short for anyone's liking.
Headmistress Reeve always had a hawkish air about her. Even her nose was curved and beaky. She had eyes of palest blue that fixed you in ice should you dare disagree or talk out of turn. She was willow-wand thin, so stick-like that it was hard to imagine her eating much at all, at least not without wiping her narrow lips after every bite. Her hair wasn't so much blonde as a washed out brown, like it just couldn't be bothered to be any colour at all. Like many women of her age she had it cut short to hide its lack of volume. There was no way in the world this woman had a happy home-life.
"It hasn't even been a full week since we've been back at school and you two are already causing chaos." Reeves hissed at the us. Asher's eyes met mine, a sly teasing scowl growing across his pink lips. I nearly puked. Breaking the gaze, I focused my attention elsewhere, anywhere actually, I just didn't want to see his face. He's so annoying and probably feeds off getting in trouble.
Headmistress Reeves made her way to the front of us, her black suit pressed out nicely, but even I could tell if she even breathed too hard the suit would rip right off her, it was so tight, and something was telling me that she liked that. "After looking at you two previous records it's safe to say that you two have quite the history, yes?"
"In my defense, Asher is always starting with me first."
"Bullshit," The boy cursed to the left of me only to be met with the fiery stare of Headmistress Reeves. "My bad, bull-crap," He corrects himself, before speaking again. "Liam is always the one starting with me just like today he came over to my table starting stuff."
"Actually, I came over there to get a drink from the vending machine. You and your friends were the one starting with me!"
"That's only because your guard dog wouldn't stop staring like he had an issue!"
"Enough!" Reeves interrupted, slamming another manicured hand on her desk. "I was warned that I might be seeing you two in my office a lot this year, but I didn't expect for it to be this soon. I mean for goddesses sake, it hasn't even been a full week since the semester started."
"Asher, one would think with the years you've been abroad studying at one of the most prestigious academies in the world, that you would've forgotten about your past issues with Mr. Claremont — and for you Liam, with all the recent accomplishments you and your father have made over the years, I would've thought you had forgotten too, but it seemed like the quarrel between you two has worsen. Why is that?"
