Chapter 8 - Aguri

"Wait, so you're telling me that Makoto went to face Regina alone?!"

"Regina requested all she knew of the princess in exchange for a letter addressed to Marie Ange, and Makoto agreed..."

Alice had run back from the forest carrying a stack of wood, but Makoto wasn't with her.
We asked her why she wasn't here and that was her response...

How does one be so dumb?

"That can't be safe! We need to warm her immediately!" I shouted.

"Calm down, Aguri...Makoto really misses the princess and needs comforting although Marie Ange's now in our hands."

"But still! That's way too dangerous! You know how dangerous Regina is now! I just barely defeated her by tiring her out!"

"Ever since Regina joined the dark side..."

Mama's voice trailed off, guilt still in her voice after nearly 2 weeks.

"Don't blame yourself! The selfish king made her do so! Not you!"

"Guys, can we focus on the situation now?! Makoto might be in danger!"

"Let's go find her then."

"All four of us?"

"I'll take care of your belongings." Sebastian, Alice's butler, chimed in.

"Thanks, Sebastian. Girls, let's go!"

All of us transformed in a flash, and sprinted off into the forest with Alice leading the way, Mana running just right behind her.

I guess she still wanted to see Regina.

We were almost there when we heard a familiar voice.

"Bye-bye, Cure Sword! Good luck handling that!"

"Regina!!!" Mana shouted at the top of her lungs.

There seems to be no response, much to her dismay.

Arriving at the clearing, we were greeted at the sight of Sword holding back a huge, no, enormous dark energy ball.

"Guys!" The purple magical girl managed to blurt out.

We all rushed over to help her, holding up the dark energy with all our might.

"One, two, three!"

Using all our strength, we pushed the energy ball towards the sky, sending it flying into the distance.

"Isn't that going to hurt someone?!"

"It will slowly disappear since it's flying so fast, don't worry."

We watched the energy ball soar off in the distance.

But then it came flying back!

Regina must still be here!

"Guys, we have to use our attacks!"

"Alright!"

"PreCure, Lovely Force Arrow!"

I whipped out my Love Kiss Rouge and aimed it at the ball.

"Ace Shot! Bakyu~n!"

The two lights sped towards the ball, seemingly draining it of its energy. Before we could relax, it grew even bigger and flew towards Sword at full speed!

"Watch out, Makoto!!"

We fired our attacks at it, but it was too late -  it hit our comrade right in the face!
