Alexandra’s POV

Ding-Dong.

The doorbell chimed, alerting me of someone’s presence at the front door. I glanced over at Ashton to see he was on his phone, not taking any notice of it. “Fine Ashton I’ll get it” I snap quietly, making him roll his eyes. “Hey it was your idea” He counteracts, throwing his hands up in defence. “No Ashton, it wasn’t” I hiss, leaving to the hallway.

My hand clutched the door knob, inhaling before opening it in a swift movement. Rosie. I breathed a sigh of relief as she said hello, placing a kiss on my cheek and giving me a quick hug. She had an ankle length red dress, which had a slit down the side showing off her legs. I was wearing a black, above the knee dress that had a lace neck line. “You look amazing” She coos, pinching my cheeks before laughing. I just give her a quick smile as I motion for her to follow through to where Ashton was.

As we entered the room, he straightened his posture and smiled. “You look amazing” He complimented as he rose slowly from his seat to greet her. He held her forearm as he kissed her cheek, much like what she had done to me not even a minute ago. I smiled in awe at them, as they both chatted away.

I cleared my throat, pointing to the kitchen and Ashton nodded rolling his eyes. “Back in a minute” He informs her in a cheery voice. I walk through the door, as he follows slowly behind.

“You’re answering the door to Calum” I say sternly, crossing my arms over my chest. He just laughs, looking me dead in the eye. “You’ll find that I’m not. He’s your date” He smirks, knowing he had the upper hand. “But I don’t want to. He’s your friend!” I exclaim, ready to kneel down and beg if needs be. “Please I’m begging you Asht-” I begin but stop dead when I see Rosie leaning against the doorframe.

“Oh Rosie, Hi” Ashton stutters as my eyes widen. “You should talk to me, your voice is nice. Just me and Ashton?” She asks with a smile. I shake my head vigorously looking around the room to divert my eyes from theirs.

“Come on Lexie, just me and Rosie. You can actually have a friend, minus me” He tells me, waving a hand in front of my face to snap me back into reality. Rosie just pouts, clasping her hands together in a begging way. “Pretty please. If you do I’ll answer the door to Calum” She bargains making me nod. “Yes, deal. Hi” I breathe out, just as the doorbell rings again.

Her face just lights up before rushing out to let Calum inside. I could hear a brief chat between them about what happened at the warehouse earlier, but then it went silent. Ashton decided this was our queue, as he pushed me forward out of the kitchen, out enough so that Calum finally saw me.

I looked down at the floor until he came over, tilting my head up so I could look in his eyes. I could tell by his eyes he didn’t like what I was wearing, but I honestly didn’t care. “You look beautiful” He breathed, leaving a quick peck on my lips. This surprised me but I just shook it off and sat on the couch. “When are we leaving?” Rosie asked, and I shrugged in reply.

“We could go out now if you want? If you’re ready” Calum chuckled, making her nod and pick up her purse from the armchair. Calum took my hand, as we all left the house, Ashton locking it behind us.

“So Lexie can come with me, and you can take Rosie’s car, sound good?” Calum smiles innocently as Ashton just nods, striding over to her car as I got in Calums. He sat in beside me, eyes trailing up and down my body, making me uneasy. I sighed, looking ahead of me as he ran his hand up my thigh, underneath my dress. I can feel his hand edging closer to my heat, so I shift uncomfortably, pushing his hand away then crossing my legs.

“It’s fine. Its fine” He murmured to himself, as if trying to calm himself down. He turned the keys in the engine, making the headlights flicker until he pulled out of the driveway. His hands clutched the wheel tightly, as he was alert to everything going on outside the car, rather than the awkward silence inside. He drove behind Rosie, following every turn as he didn’t know the directions.

“Make sure to eat healthy. If you want to be with me, you need to be healthy” Calum smiles over at me, his eyes darting quickly back to the road. I nod slowly, chewing on my lip. I didn’t want to be with him, but since he was going to try be nice tonight, I might as well keep out of his bad books.

Soon after we pulled up to the restaurant, seeing Rosie and Ashton walking through the doors. I stepped out of the car, shutting the door and walking around to the front, waiting for Calum. He soon got out, wrapping an arm around my shoulder, kissing my forehead. “Lets go” He smiles, moving his hand down to the small of my back, bringing me along with him.

As we entered, the smell of freshly cooked food hit us both, then Calum pointed to the table they were seated at. I slid in one side of the booth, Calum beside me. Ashton was across from Calum, while Rosie was across from me. The waiter came over soon after asking us for our orders. “Well I’m dying for meat, so a burger please” Rosie laughed, patting her stomach. “Yeah I’ll have the same” Ashton told the waiter politely and he nodded, scribbling both down on his notepad.

He then turned to us. “Carbonara please” Calum says, leaving it up to me. I show Calum the menu, pointing to a salad, and he nods telling the waiter for me. “Since when do you eat salad?” Ashton chuckles, as the waiter leaves us alone. I shrug, glancing at Calum who now had a smile plastered on his face.

“Good girl” He whispers into my ear, tucking a strand of hair behind it. His hand gently rests on my knee, not moving any closer. “Actually, I’m going to go to the restroom really quick. Lex?” Rosie smiles, standing up as I nod in agreement. We rush through to the bathroom, trying not to make it obvious.

“What’s Calums deal then?” She asks, sensing there was something wrong as I splashed water over my face. “Uh nothing. He’s fine” I stutter, from nerves. She rolls her eyes, coming over and hugging me tightly. “I know what he’s like, I used to be his victim too” Was the only thing she whispered as we left the bathroom.
