My heart is breaking
Shattering
Dissolving into millions and millions
Of the tiniest specks of dust
And whisking away into the breeze
Carried off by the wind
Only to settle once it finds
The most suitable resting place
For my heart
My ever-breaking heart
One piece scattered
In the wind
Lands carefully
In your outstretched palm
You caress it
Slowly
So...
Slowly...
With a feather-light touch
Your fingers dance
On the last piece of my heart
My agony-filled heart
Then you snap your hand closed
And that last piece
Crumbles into nothing
And pain etches its way
Into my chest
For you have destroyed
The last of what was left
Of my heart
My ever-dying heart
My non-existent heart

Thoughts Whispered into the Void
PoetryI am screaming into the endless mass of darkness and shadows that exists in my mind. Maybe it'll scream back. I dread it. I hope for it. I welcome it.
