"Is this supposed to be scary?"

Devin glanced up from the shopping list, eyes now peering to look at Michael.

Michael had his eyes, a lifeless deadpan in them, glued to something. A large object. He stared blankly at the skeleton body in front of him. It was one of those fake ones, obviously, made of plastic and had one of those hardly menacing looks on their faces. Fake perfectly aligned teeth and cheap black paint where its eyesockets were.

Devin raised an eyebrow as he looked at it himself now, his calculated gaze eyeing the skeleton up and down. "To a six-year-old yeah."

"Huh." Michael quietly huffed under his breath, noting how Devin's response would be classified as a 'burn.' Figuratively speaking. That's what his books on companionship say at least.

Michael lifted a hand up to simply poke the fake skeleton's bony arm. "I've seen skeletons much more menacing than this. Freshly skinned too. There's no thick red water called blood on this one either."

Devin really didn't question it despite his curiosity, he merely just turned back to his checklist with a concerned sigh under his breath.

Wonderful. Another reason why Michael was deemed as the weird kid in school. Not that Michael was offended, he understood he wasn't like others. But he wasn't upset by it. He never cried about it either, just like how he never sleeps. His therapist says that's bad.

"Michael," said boy turned to Devin, not sharply or worried about being quick in the slightest. It was like he was emotionless, or a robot maybe. "Come on, we have other items to obtain on the list."

And with that, they were on their way... to the next aisle.

Michael had been able to stay by Devin's side for a bit, not paying too much attention to their surroundings. But when his eyes soon caught glimpse of something shiny in the corner of his eye he stopped walking. Actually turning his head to see what it was as Devin continued his journey down the aisle, Michael's abrupt stop unnoticed by him.

With a small head tilt, like a curious cat perhaps, Michael started making his way over to what had caught his eye. His tail lazily but limply swaying left to right behind him.

Devin hadn't noticed Michael leave his side, a bit too focused on his checklist. So when he went to finally address his acquaintance to find him gone, yeah, he will admit. He was a bit concerned.

The two brothers were the ones who found him. Kind of.

Austin and Ritchie were fighting, huge shocker there, about what candy to get for the club. There was some Halloween party planned and Patricia had asked if they could get some things like candy, decorations, and drinks for her.

Ritchie had instantly said yes, and had dragged his friends along with him. Much to Austin's dismay. Seriously, Ritchie would do anything for Patricia. It was odd to think how far he'd go for her.

"This is so stupid. Why did you drag us along with you?!" Austin complained as he walked backwards, not the safest of ideas really. The brother's job was to get candy, Devin and Michael had the job of getting decorations, and Bri was getting drinks.

"Because Patricia needs this okay?! I will do anything for Patrica." Ritchie exclaimed back, walking forwards to keep up with his brother. Austin didn't see how Ritchie's eyes darkened as he said that. All he did was go to whine and fuss again, "but why bring us! Some of us have things to d─ Woah!"

Austin's back suddenly bumped into what felt like someone else's. Austin quickly reeled away as he straightened himself, whipping his head around to see who it was. His eyes were met with a pair of emotionless ones, and he instantly knew who it was.
