Zak POV

"Sir, are you awake?"

A far away voice yelled.

It echoed in my ears as if they were 100 miles away. I struggled to open my eyes as a bright light was flashed in my face.

The light turned off and I opened my eyes properly. Suddenly all the noise around me, hit me at once.

The sirens.

The screaming.

And the ringing in my ears.

"He's awake!" An unfamiliar person yelled.

"Do you remember you're name?" They asked, turning back to me.

My head was pounding but I mumbled, "My names Zak."

The person smiled at me, probably to reassure me. "Okay that's good." They said.

"How old are you?" They asked me.

"I'm nineteen." I groaned, "My head hurts."

They smiled sadly, "I know, this will be over soon."

Suddenly I felt two pairs of strong hands pick me up. I was laid onto some kind of bed and hoisted into a vehicle.

I recognized the sirens.

An ambulance?

What happened?

I began to get dizzy and my world went black.

*woosh*

I woke up and a white light flashed in my eyes.

I squinted and covered my eyes.

Am I at the hospital?

I tried to sit up and I felt a pain in my side, and I fell back into a laying position. I got a good look at the room I was in, and confirmed that I was at the hospital.

I noticed someone sleeping in a chair beside my bed.

My sister.

(Idk his sisters name soooo we're gonna name her... Sarah)

"Sarah." I whispered, "Wake up."

She stirred and opened her eyes, "Zak?"

She sat up quickly, "Oh my god, you're awake!" She yelled, "I need a doctor!"

Sarah looked at me, "I'm so glad you're okay. Do you need anything? Water?"

"I'm good for now." I whispered.

A woman wearing a white coat ran into the room, looking panicked, "Is everything alright?"

Her panic disappeared when she saw me.

"How are you feeling?" She asked.

"Fine." I muttered.

What happened?

She glanced at my sister, "I need to ask him some questions."

I guess Sarah took that as her cue to leave, because she stood up and smiled at me before walking out.

The doctor sat down beside me, "Hi, I'm Dr. Paige."

I smiled politely at her. What else could I really do?

"So I'm going to ask you some questions and you just need to answer." She said.

"Can you please say your name, age, and name everyone in your family." She said.

I sighed, "My name is Zak, I'm nineteen years old. I have two parents and one sister."

She smiled, "Very good. Can you remember what happened?"

I strained my mind to think about what had happened.

The water on my window.

The blurriness.

The red light.

The crash.

"I was in a car accident." I said.

She smiled wider, "Phenomenal."

My parents rushed in just as she said that and wrapped their arms around me. They hugged me a bit too tight because I felt a sharp pain in my stomach.

"Ow, that's a bit too hard." I said.

They pulled away. "Sorry." My mom said, "It's just that we were so worried about you!"

Dr. Paige pulled them to the side, "This is great news. Even though it seems like he hit his head extremely hard, it doesn't seem to have effected him. You guys are extremely lucky."

My parents eyes lit up and they wrapped their arms around me again.

*woosh*

My parents and my sister went out to buy me something as a 'gift'.

I don't understand why I need a gift for almost dying, but whatever. I was left alone in my room, with the occasional nurse checking up on me.

All I could do was just lay there and do nothing.

All of a sudden I heard a voice.

Hi Zak.

I jumped, causing pain to shoot through my body.

Oh my goodness, I didn't mean to scare you. Sorry.

My eyes searched frantically around the room, looking for who was talking,

I'm Darryl.

Shit.

What's going on?

You need to follow my instructions closely.

Is this voice in my head? I can literally hear the voice and his emotions in my head. I've gone crazy.

No you haven't. Now listen, you need to get up, no matter how painful it is and you need to leave the hospital.

Why would I do that?

Because I said so, now go.

I don't know why, but I listened. I sat up slowly, squeezing my eyes shut, in pain. I tried my best to ignore it and stood up.

Pain shot through my legs but I continued.

I hobbled through the halls and towards an exit.

No one seems to be around at the moment.

Strange.

I walked outside and just stood there.

I'm outside.

Okay you're doing good. Stay there.

A couple minutes later I smelled a familiar smell.

Burning.

I looked up and saw that the building was on fire.

And the fire had started in my room.

Oh wow this is probably the longest chapter I've done. Is this chapter confusing?

You guys want a part two?

Also how many more chapters should I do for this book before ending it?
