CHAPTER 12

~ I do my hair toss

Xavier's pov

"Xavi, penny for your thoughts", I hear Dali asking bringing me back to earth.

"huh... oh nothing just thinking about the candle light dinner we had on the weekend", I said

Right now Dali, the rest of the group and I are at the cafeteria at our lunch table; it's the first day of the week and we are back at school. The project that me and baby was paired went well, obviously since we basically had to tell something about the person you are partnered with.

This week is going to be very hectic with my match which is tomorrow and I have been practicing my ass off. All thanks to the angel in my life I can come home to relax and have a good time.

"Baby", I called her.

"Yea Xavi", she looked at me.

"You are gonna be there tomorrow right", I asked wrapping an arm around her waist to pull her close.

She squeaked when I pulled her to me, "of course! I never miss one".

"I know but I just wanted to ask you", I said looking at her and gave a peck on to her lips.

Today's match and I'm at the gym right now doing some pre workouts before the match to warm up. Dali and the others are at her place since they wanted come together and not distract me.

"Okay Xavier, that's enough. come here boy", my coach called me. He's a 55 years old man who was also a professional kick boxer in the 97. I'm quite lucky that I found myself a coach like him and bonded so well that he is like a grand father to me now since I was learning from him when I was just 7 years old.

"Coming pops", I removed my boxing gloves and grabbed the towel and the water bottle.

"It's your big and I don't want you to worn yourself out. I actually called you not to tell you that but also to tell you that at the match today there will be manipulative competitors too, who will try to trigger you and get a reaction from you to get an advantage to their selves. so I'm telling you boy not to flip but to control you anger and invest that anger when you get your chance to kick their asses but remember; play by the rules but show them who you are Xavier Knight. Good luck and you know you always have blessings boy from your pops", he hugged me.

"Thanks pops it means a lot and I promise I'll make you and everyone proud", I pat his back.

As soon as I head out of the gym after taking a wash, I heard the voice that I've been dreading to hear since last night. I had the biggest smile on my face and opened my arms to the energy ball that's running towards me in full speed.

"Xaviiiiiiii", Dali squealed and jumped into my open arms wrapping her legs around me.

I laughed and quickly grabbed her securing her in my arms and enjoying the moment since I haven't seen since last night.

"Hi!", she said breathlessly and wrapping her arms around my neck.

I smiled and placed a kiss on her forehead and said a hey.

She smiled at me and said," I missed you though it was for few hours", and littered my whole face with her kisses.

"I missed you so much baby", I said in between her kisses.

Soon the others came too and we all walked to my room at the gym with Dali still in my arms; whenever she misses me or wouldn't see me for some time, she would be in my arms till she has to do something or get over her excitement but who am I to complaint I love the attention I get from her.

After we all came to my room the others settled on the bean bags and I sat on the single cushion chair with baby on my lap, by now she is pretty much comfy with her arms, legs around me and her head nuzzled into my neck.

'what's up guys?", I asked the others.

"Nothing much, was just hanging out at Daliah's place, until we couldn't handle her looking at the watch every 5 minutes ", replied Cody pointing to the cute monkey who's still clinging to me. I chuckled and placed a long kiss onto her forehead tightening my arms around her.

"Anyways dude who are you gonna compete with this year?", Andrew asked.

"Lorenzo Bianchi", I cleared my throat and replied.

I cursed in my head after he asked who I was gonna compete with. Lorenzo Bianchi is one of the best kick boxers. He's Italian and is the same age as me but the way he's trained is to kill your opponent no matter what and for sure he never plays by the rules. He for sure is ruthless but I'm no less, however I play by the rules but if he dare do something that's gonna flip me I swear to God I'm gonna beat him till he's unrecognizable.

The whole room was dead silent after knowing who I was competing with, since everyone knew who he is I didn't need to introduce him but that was not my biggest concern rather the angel in my arms who will keep me sane during the match, that has tensed up and unconsciously tightened her arms around me and a whimper came out of her mouth.

"X-Xavi", Dali called me in the small voice looking up at me now. I looked at her and then at the others and they all soon left the room after getting the message that we needed some privacy.

"Baby, look at me", I ran my hand over head multiple times after she went back to hiding her face but now out of fear.

I only got a whimper as a reply and a simple "No" from her.

"Please baby, let me see the face that I've been dying to see", I pushed my head back to look at her face and only to see a pair of tearful eyes.

" I am scared Xavi because the both of you have the same strength but he's so sly", she replied, her voice cracking at the end.

"I know baby. trust me I know about him because I've already had a match with him few years back when we were just kids.

"Promise me, that you won't back down, promise me you will fight back no matter what", she said sternly now rising up from her slouched position making her taller than me on my lap.

I smiled and hugged her, resting my head right on top of her heart calming my nerves before the match.

"Mi Vida please", I smiled after hearing the nickname she used after so many years.

"I missed that name", I said and kissed her hard on her lips.

"Please, promise me". she said clutching my head hiding in her embrace almost looks like she's protecting me from the world.

I smile," I promise Chiquita. Have faith in me", I replied using the name I used to call her when we were small and hugged her, embracing the moment before the match that will be in few hours.
