Lauren

Today is a special day. I am so excited for today. Today. What is today? It's the day where StarKid gets to meet up again! Better yet, for another show called Black Friday! I got up at five thirty today, something I never do unless I absolutely have to, so I could make my flight at seven.

My heart seems to be exploding with joy when I swing my legs out from my bed. That joy is quickly replaced by the feeling of  becoming a popsicle.

"Jesus," I mutter. "Is the heat even on?"

Shivering, I waddle over to my closet and pick out a comfy sweater and some leggings. Something simple and comfortable for the flight to LA.

Diane will be in good care with my dogsitter, Julia, so I don't have to worry about my baby. I'll miss her so much when I go. She is my one and only child, although I do foster sometimes.

I grab my suitcase, a shiny black one, and check the time. Six thirty, so I'm running late. I heave my backpack onto one shpulder, giving me flashbacks of college at U of M. Luckily the drive to the airport is usually ten minutes or less. That only leaves me twenty minutes, though....

I rush put the door, suitcase bouncing noisily behind me, probably waking the neighbors that are still sleeping. I fumble with the keys in my hand, searching for the one to my apartment. I lock my door as quickly as I can, then search for my phone in my backpack.

I try and get to the airport as fast as possible without going too far over the speed limit. Good thing it's not quite the end of the month, or the police would for sure pull me over.

When I finally reach the airport, a familiar face startles me.

"Jaime!" I screech demonically, charging at her.

Jaime looks temporarily scared as I run at her at full force, but when I wrap my arms around her she relaxes and squeezes me back.

"Hey, Lo, I just figured you'd want a traveling buddy since the flight from Michigan to LA would be kinda boring," Jaime says, "especially without me."

I have no words so I squeeze her tighter, not realizing the full force of how much I missed her.

"So...you..." I start, the fact that Jaime was in LA and just flew to Michigan only just dawning on me.

Jaime, realizing my thoughts, explained, "I had to make a trip to see someone, and I was only a state over, so I figured I might as well join you on the flight to LA."

"You mean to tell me you didn't tell me you were a state away and didn't even tell me what's wrong with you?" I choke out in one breath.

"Well, I wanted it to be a surprise!" Jaime exclaims.

With that, we board our flight and fly away to LA to have the time of our lives. About an hour in, I am exhausted. The flight is four hours and twenty-one minutes. At least I'll have time for sleep before I start to go and do stuff again.

"Hey, Jaime," I mumble sleepily.

"Yeah, Lauren?" She answers.

"What's the other reason you're here? I know you've probably been here for a little while," I ask.

A sigh. "I wanted to check up on you. I know that you haven't been doing so great since we split up again. I was...I just needed to know...you were starting to not reply to me anymore. I asked some other StarKid members if you'd been answering them and they said you'd barely talked to them after a few months. I'm...Lo?"

During her reply, my eyes started to get really heavy. I meant to reply to her but that just seemed like a lot of work. I hope Jaime isn't too worried....

I let sleep consume me.

-----------

A/N: soooo that was kinda crappy. Sorry. And I know that a lot of this information isn't quite correct. A lot of it won't be. Just a warning for that. ALSO, this is going to be a very triggering series. Like...if you've been through some stuff and things trigger you easily this is NOT the thing to be reading. Sorry for this random note to be so long.

Anyways, hope you enjoyed!

P.S
You can obviously read this if things trigger you I can't stop you. I will be warning people when triggering chapters come up.
