Chapter 5

Avery:
When class ended i was tryin to get outside for lunch af fast as possible without Ryder seeing me. Why? U ask well I've been thinking about him all day and i want is to stop so seeing him won't help. I was speed walking thru the hallway when i hear someone calling my name, now I don't know anybody here accept for Ryder so i knew who it was.

"Avery hold up!" I hear him yell running towards me. I freaked out and just straight up ran towards to front doors. When i was outside I didn't stop running until i arrived at the tree, but guess who was already leaning against it.
"Why were you trying to avoid me?" He asked with a silent voice. Great now i feel like shit he's the only friend i have at this school and i already fucked it up.

He mumbled something under his breath that sounded like "you didn't" but I shrugged it off. "I uh just wanted to get the tree before other people claimed it." I lied. He looked at me still with those sad puppy eyes and sighed. "You know if you don't wanna sit with me you could just say so" he said ready to leave. I panicked and before he walked away i grabbed his hand "NO" i yelled at him. He looked at me confused. I blushed and looked at the ground "d-don't leave i just, i'm confused" I whispered still not looking him in the eye.

I still held his hand in mine, it was so big and warm i loved it. "What are you confused about?" He asked stroking my hand with his thumb and shit I'm catching feelings quicker than some fangirl. I released shaky breath saying "you". And with that it was silent his thumb stopped moving. "What do you find confusing about me hun?" He asked taking a step closer. I could feel his body heat radiating of him and i gulped. "I- i don't know" i said shakily with tears starting to form. How i don't know, but He caught onto my tears very fast and cupped my face in his hands. "Hey shh don't cry you don't have to tell me if you don't want to" he said stroking my cheek with his thumb.

That didn't help at all and i just burst out crying. He shushed me and gently pulled me into a hug with my face in his chest. "It's okay bubs I'm here" he whispered into my hair. After 2 minutes I quiet down, but I don't move from my spot. "It's not that I don't want to tell you I'm just scared" I whisper to him. He squeezes me closer "I understand you can tell me when you fully trust me, I won't pressure you" he said.
I closed my eyes mumbling a thank you while holding his shirt in my fist.

After a while he stood up i have no idea why but i was half asleep so i just whined and hold his shirt tighter. "It's okay bubba just hold on" he whispered in my ear. I did as i was told in my sleepy stage and clung to his neck while he was walking towards something. I couldn't stay awake to see where he was going but i trusted him.
