It had been a week and I hadn't had any communication with Colby since we went to Six Flags.

I was starting to get desperate to see him again.

Luna seemed to be spending a lot of time with Sam recently and she seemed to be coming back different.

Last night I realised that if I want to see Colby again, I'm gonna have to make the move.

I grab my cup of coffee and head to my laptop.

I decide to come across as confident and to Skype Colby instead of texting him.

I press the call button hoping he won't mind my baggy top and messy hair.

It rings a couple times before he picks up.

"Hello?" Comes a voice from the other side of the screen.

It takes a moment for the owner of the voice to appear but when it does it definitely isn't Colby.

It's a girl, a very pretty girl actually.

"Hello?" She says again. I snap out of my trance and reply.

"Oh um yer sorry to bother you I was just wondering if Colby was there but if you're busy then it doesn't matter." I blubber.

She chews loudly on her gum and gives me a sickening smile.

"He's a bit busy right now but I can pass a message on if you'd like?"

"No no it's fine, just leave it, have fun!"

Have fun? Who says that!

I'm about to hang up when I hear a door open and Colby's voice.

"Who are you talking to Abi?"

"Oh no one. Just this girl who Skyped you."

Shit.

I hang up so quickly I nearly break my mouse, desperate to not have to see Colby.

Of course Colby was with a girl. It's not like we're dating or anything, just friends.

So why does it bother me so much?

And to the girl I'm "nobody? Just a girl who Skyped him."

Urghhhh. Grow up Ana. You're friends okay? There's never been any sign that you're anything more.

"Just friends" I say out loud to myself.

It doesn't take away the pain though.

I sigh and heave myself out from the bean bag, dumping my coffee into the sink.

I slouch onto the sofa and turn on Netflix.

It's time to get lost in a Doctor Who episode.

Rose's dad is just about to sacrifice himself to save the planet when there's a loud knock on my door.

I audibly groan and head over to answer it.

I thrust open the door to reveal a worried looking Colby standing there.

"Hey" he says softly.

I suddenly become self conscious of my baggy top and shorts and unbrushed hair and wish I could just close the door on him.

But instead I smile up at him and try my best to sound unbothered and cheerful.

"Hey! You okay?"

He shifts about awkwardly before saying, "I want to explain about earlier. The Skype call."

I interrupt before he can finish.

"Colby seriously, you don't owe me an explanation. I was just calling to see if you wanted to hang out. No big deal. You don't have to apologise for anything. You're allowed to date girls Colby's. It's no big deal."

"That's the thing, I'm not dating her. In fact I'm not even friends with her."

"So you invite random strangers into your room?" I say while crossing my arms.

"No listen. She's my next door neighbour and she asked me to keep a package safe for her while she was away. She had come round to get it when you Skyped. I didn't even know you had Skyped until I looked at my recent call history and then I came straight over here to clear things up."

My whole body feels overwhelmed with happiness. It was just his neighbour, nothing bad.

"Well, Thankyou for explaining but like I said you really didn't owe me an apology."

We stare at each other for a minute before he looks past me at the TV.

"Doctor Who?"

I step out of the way so he can see it better. "Oh yer, it's just one of the greatest TV shows of all time."

"Urgh I know! This episode though, makes me tear up." He says dramatically pretending to wipe away fake tears.

"Wanna come in and finish it of with me?" I say suddenly become nervous for his reply.

"I would of loved to but I've got to get back to help Sam finish a video."

"Oh that's fine. Another time." I say trying to hide the disappointment in my voice.

"Definitely and before I forget I also came over here to invite you to a paintball game on Thursday with me and some other people?"

I try hard not to squeal I'm excitement. "Ohh you made the wrong move there Brock. You're looking at the Queen of paintball herself."

"Well is that right Woods? I guess I'll have to be careful then."

I laugh at him trying to ignore the feeling in my stomach. "Oh could Luna come as well? We've drifted lately and this could be the perfect thing to bond over?"

"What could be better than shooting each other to reform a friendship? Yer of course she can come. See you Thursday Ana."

"See you Thursday Colby."

When I've seen him off and closed the door I squeal as loud as possible and start dancing around my living room!

ROLL ON THURSDAY!
