When school ended Kacchan sent me a text to meet by the gates, before I headed out I exchanged numbers with Shinso so we could stay in contact. I should set up a time to hang out with Shinso soon since I barely know him, it takes more than one day to truly know somebody but I still think he's a valuable friend. He even helped me add information about Eraserhead and Present Mic to my notebook! He's as big a fan of those two as I am of All Might!

When I got to the gate I spotted Kacchan talking to...some guy? Some really skinny blonde guy with shadows on his face was speaking urgently to Kacchan which was weird but alright, maybe he's a teacher or something? I'm sure Kacchan will tell me if I ask. I waited for them to finish talking and then headed over to Kacchan, "Hey! Who was that?"

Kacchan shrugged as an answer and pulled my collar down for probably the millionth time to look at my choker, "Round Face wants to walk with us to the subway because the city scares her for some reason." He looked away and muttered, "Pussy."

"Maybe it's because she's a girl?" My mom tells me that girls don't like walking alone. Maybe Mrs Bakugo hasn't told Kacchan about that because I don't think Miss Bakugo has ever been scared by people, she could probably beat the breaks off of anybody. She's scary.

Kacchan didn't respond and I looked around until I saw Ururaka hurrying to join us, "Hi Bakugo, Deku!" She smiled happily but I noticed she had a few scratches and her uniform looked disheveled, "Sorry I was late! I asked Mr Aizawa to show me some quick pointers about using my quirk in different ways, he showed Ojiro some tips so I-"

"-Whatever," Kacchan cut her off and began walking. I hurried after him with Ururaka following, she was out of breath so I walked slower on purpose to make Kacchan slow down. I wonder what Eraserhead, or Aizawa, taught her. I could add it to my notebook! They must be training hard, it's the first day and their quirks have already been put to the test. In my class we just discussed quirk mutations, it was interesting for me but Shinso and a few other students fell asleep during the lecture.

Ururaka waited a few moments before speaking, "So what's your quirk?" She asked and for a moment I didn't realize she was speaking to me. I know her question was innocent but it made me uncomfortable immediately and I looked down at my bright red shoes. I began kicking a rock along with us to try and calm my thoughts.

I don't even know how to answer her really, I'm not even sure what my quirk is. It's something to do with fire but I've never been able to experiment with it and I probably never will. Essentially I'm quirkless even with my quirk, it's just so unfair. I looked back up to see Ururaka flushed with confusion, "I-"

"-He doesn't have one," Kacchan cut in. I sighed, relieved to not have to explain the complexity of my situation. It made me sad though, essentially we're lying to Ururaka who has done nothing to us, "Don't ask again." He growled.

"Oh!" Ururaka's face turned pinker than it already was, "I-I'm sorry I didn't know..." She trailed off and the conversation vanished. Awkwardly we walked the rest of the way to the station in silence. I grabbed Kacchan's sleeve once we arrived at the entrance so he couldn't grab my hand again because it's so embarrassing.

For a moment we lost Ururaka as Kacchan handled getting us tickets but she reappeared when we went to wait on the platform. She still looked embarrassed but spoke anyway, "So how long have you two been friends?" She asked to try and dispel the weird atmosphere.

"Since diapers!" I reported happily, "Our moms met at the clinic when they were pregnant and became best friends and then we became friends too." Kacchan grumbled and I ignored him again, that's one of the perks of being me-I get to ignore Kacchan and not have him scream at me for it.
