Nightmare's POV

Well, I had fallen asleep again.

Let me explain (Studios haha).

Pretty much everyone remembers Blue gets super hyper when he has sugar. Error told me that he also has a really hard sugar crash after the rush. Well, for the past few days, I had been practically living off of coffee.. and we ran out today.

So I had a caffeine crash, and passed out, hard, during breakfast. I probably won't wake up for a few more hours, I thought, So I might as well head off to the place where I watch over others. As I focused my energy on getting into the bubbled area, I could feel the color shifting with my magic, like it always did. It was a slow, gradual process, like the sun setting, changing daytime to dusk.

But something was.. off. I could tell. I was supposed to be one of only two people to access this bubble. I opened my eyes..

And I saw a girl with purple tipped hair waving at me. I gave her a confused look and closed my eyes again, opening them to see the real bubble.

There was a different girl there. She wore a purple hoodie, her hair wasn't tipped, and her skin was pale, like she hadn't seen sun in her whole life. And then I noticed something else.. she was holding my circlet. She started panicking, looking more and more worried the more and more I looked at her and around her, analyzing the situation.

She could obviously use magic. For one, the area around her was a more lavender purple than mine, and for two.. her eyes were literally glowing out of fear. She finally snapped and said something.

Jaiden's POV

"I'm sorry, ok! I just thought it was cool!" I exclaimed, holding the circlet out in front of me, eyes shut tight. I expected him to maybe slap me, or rip if from my fingers, but he took it gently and slowly. I opened my eyes to sympathetic eyelights, not close but not super far away from my own face. He smiled.

"It is pretty cool, isn't it?" he said softly. He might as well have been whispering, though, because no matter how soft he said it, his voice seemed to echo around the whole place. He smiled sadly at the crescent engraving, then turned it around and placed it on his skull. It fit perfectly. He did something else with his hands, though. They shimmered with royal purple light, and a golden lavender glow spawned in between his hands, which were about chest length apart.

Slowly but surely, another circlet appeared in between his hands. It was plain, and shined with a metallic color right in between gold and silver. He took another analyzing look at me, then added a small semicircle at what seemed like the front now. He held it out to me. As soon as my hands held on to it, the middle of the semicircle started wearing off, which left a wing-shaped indent on the front.

It was the perfect size for my head. Almost automatically, I put it atop my dark brown hair. As it sat there, he smiled approvingly, and said,

"Any person able to visit the feelings bubble, whether human or monster, deserves a token to show so." I looked at him in confusion, and he laughed, abruptly stopping the serious mood.

"That means that only me and my brother can normally visit this when asleep, and we both have these," he pointed to his circlet, "so I just figured it was appropriate."

I smiled. "No, no, it's fine," the words tumbled out of my mouth. "I was just a bit surprised, is all."

We spent the rest of the time I was dreaming just chatting. I found out his name was Nightmare, and his brother's name was Dream. I told him mine, and, like any other normal person, misspelled it the first time. He looked embarrassed at that, but I told him he wasn't the first, nor would be the last. It happened all the time, after all.

I felt myself waking up after what felt like maybe an hour. He seemed to notice this, and asked of one last thing from me before I left.

"Promise me," he said, holing out his enclosed hand, with only his pinky finger sticking out, "that you won't forget about this, and that you'll take care of this place when me or Dream isn't here."

"I promise," I said, shaking his pinky with my own. "Also, are we friends?"

He laughed. "I think we are. Have a good day!"

Jaiden's POV

I woke up, sitting bolt upright in my bed. The clock to the left of me showed the time: 7 am. Darn, I woke up early. What a strange dream, I thought, standing up and stretching out, leaning backwards as I heard a faint thump on the bed. Standing up straight, I turned around, curious, and then all words escaped me.

Sitting on the bed, was a golden-silver circlet, with a semicircle on the front and an indent of a bird's wing, gleaming bright.

So it wasn't just a dream after all...
