Eleanor's POV

Mom was laid on a hospital bed with breathing tubes threw her nose. She was sleeping soundly.

"Mom?" Her eyes flew open and smiled at me.

"I'll leave you two alone." Nick left.

"Want to see your children?" She looked across the room at two cribs. One was pink with a butterfly mobile on top, the other blue with cars. I got up from the wheelchair with difficulty and looked inside to see two beautiful babies sleeping.-"Go on, grab one."-Mom encouraged me. I picked up the girl and cradled her in my arms. She started to cry. I tried burping her, but it was no use.-"Try feeding her."

"How?"

"Ahhh... A baby doesn't come with an instruction book. Lower your robe 'til you have one breast showing, put her close to it and if she wants milk she'll drink."

I did as she told me and to my amazement Marie stuck to it like her life depended on it.

"She's beautiful." I mused.

"Now that she's quiet I want to talk to you about George."

"What about him?"

"How was he in his 'performance'?"

I blushed."That is an awkward question."

"Come on. I haven't talked like this since I was pregnant with your brother."

"Fine. He was...great"

"Mhm..." Mom looked at me with her eyebrows raised. I gave in.

"Ok! He was perfect, especially when he-"

"Too much information. You miss him?"

"Yes" Marie started coughing and I burped her.

"She has asthma. They'll give you a pump for her when you go out. I can't believe you named her after me."

"How can I not name  her after the most wonderful mother in the world. You helped me when Dad didn't, you were the first one to accept my relationship with George. I wanna thank you for always being there for me. I love you, Mom."-I cried.

"My time is at the corner now. You be a great mother to your children, a great wife to George if you ever see him again, and be a great person. Take care of your father and your brother. I love you my sweet Eleanor. Time for me to go."

"Go in peace, Mom. Goodbye" She closed her eyes with a smile. I heard the beep of the machine and knew she was gone.

A nurse came in and took the tubes out." I'll give you the pump right after I change there diapers."

"Can I take them home?"

"Of course. Yu should give your father the news.I'm sorry for your loss."

"I will, thanks"

I went to the waiting room and told Dad. I'll never forget Mom.
