Thump, thump. My baby’s heartbeats sound through the room like a beat. The biggest smile I have ever had rest on my face. The picture on the screen is showing what looks like a little alien. Viktor squeeze’s my hand the same smile on his face. If you had asked me months ago that I would be here at this moment with Viktor at DR appointment listening to my baby heartbeat. I would have told it was not possible. Because back then. All I had seen was a pain. But now all I see is a joy. And I can’t wait to meet the little bundle of joy. No matter if it’s a boy or a girl. “Ah, I’m so excited I’m going to cry” Laura squeals in excitement, standing at the end of the bed watching the screen. “would you like a Picture now, or would you like to wait till the next time you come in? You will be able to see the baby better,” DR. smith asks me with a smile. I look to Viktor in question, wondering what he thinks. “I say we wait. It's not like we have a bunch of people to show anyway,” he says, and I agree. The DR looks to me confirm, and I nod my head.
The DR prints of my visit papers and prescribes me vitamins to take along with don’t do’s until I’m three months pregnant. “Okay, so we need to go home and finish packing,” I say. Laura pouts.” Don’t worry. You can come see us whenever you want to. You have both our new phone numbers. Just let me know when you want to come. Okay,” I say as we walk to the car. She gives me a tight-lipped smile and nods. I know she is unhappy that I’m going so far away, and I am too little, but I know I’m going to see her again soon.” Is heath still coming over for our going away dinner” I ask her. “yeah, I guess so. I haven’t heard anything different. I know he has been busy with work, but I think he told them he wouldn’t work tonight, no matter what. Plus, he is going to miss the DR knowing it may be a while before he gets to see you again,” she confirms.
We spend the rest of the day packing up my room. I really don’t have much, but It takes me a while because I clean the room as I go. Washing the sheets and blankets then putting them back on the bed for whatever next roommate she is going to have. We load everything up in a car that Viktor has waiting to take to our private plan. I still can’t believe we're doing this, and honestly, I’m excited. We will be leaving in the morning to go and start our life together. Evening falls, and Laura starts dinner. She has always been the chief of the house, and she is good at it. She has even talked about going to school, and I hope she does. I think she would enjoy becoming a chief one day. Maybe even in her own restaurant.
When I hear the knock on the door, I all but skip to the door and open it. Heath embraces me in a warm hug.” Hey,” I greet him with a smile.” I can’t believe you're leaving us. But I’m glad you’re happy,” he says. “thank you. That means the world to me, and I am happy.” I pull him aside and then head to the kitchen to help Laura carry everything to the table. She made Italian tonight: homemade lasagna, salad, and breadsticks. Viktor opens the bottle of white wine he bought today. Once everything is set, we all sit down. Heath isn’t completely updated on everything, so tonight, we inform him on the due date. A few names we have put together and where we're going to be living now.
