You knew you held my heartIn the palm of your hand
And you still messed around with it
Teased me you were going to drop it.
And yet, still managed to convince me
You were never going to let your fingers-
Just accidentally let it slip through.
But now that I've said something
About one of the things,
That you did wrong
You suddenly don't
Want to be the holder of my heart
And you threw it back at me.
I suppose,
I should be grateful
You at least didn't drop it.
But it still hurt
Because it seemed
As if
You never gave much more thought
Except to run.
And that definitely
Was something that hit hard.
Because you were the first I had ever
Given my heart away to
So unregretfully.
