I took my phone and gave Maya a call.
"You won't believe who I just saw" I huddled in.
"Let me guess, another one of your nightmare friends"
"Not too bad for a guess. Snow!"
"NO way!"
"Yes way!" We both laughed.
"Well did you finally have a one on one conversation" Maya asked with curiosity.
"Not really. He was too busy trying to find his runaway Cinderella"
"Well, maybe you should tell him, it was you"
"Not a chance!"
"Why? He seemed like a really nice guy" She guessed.
"That's what I'm afraid of"
"When will you ever stop running" She asks.
"When I start feeling again. You know Snow will just mess around with my world. I don't fall in love anymore. I've got no emotions. I'll just end up hurting him."
"Or you could try again. Common you're only human"
"I don't think I can do that. It's not who I am anymore".
"Give it time, then you'll tell me all about it"
"Alright! This conversation is over. I'll see you tomorrow alright"
"Love you. Bye!"
I hanged up the call and laid still in my bed, locking my eyes onto the ceilings and allowing my mind to wonder off to another land.
Slowly by slowly, the rain started to pour, and it felt so good watching it through the window. How the tiny rain drops compete with the big ones and how they looked as if they were in a peaceful battle felt like heaven on earth. The rain finally slows down and I could feel the cool air beating on my face as it escapes through my window.
I grabbed my black hoodie and boots. Making my way to the living room, where everybody sat quietly watching T.V. and listening to the slow sound of the rain drops hitting on the rooftop.
"I'm going for a walk" I said to them as I stood in the middle of the door looking like a statue.
"Don't go too far in this weather" My mom yelled.
I nodded and walked around searching for my dog.
"Vincent, Come on boy" I called out for him as he came running to me, wiggling his tail.
I walked down the street, with Vincent marching beside me, as I let the sound of my music and the cool breeze of the wind to completely consume me.
I felt someone jogging behind me, but I continued walking trying to ignore the movements. Vincent started growling and I turned around to see huge footsteps behind me.
"Wait, I know you" The stranger said staring at my dog trying to cool him down. I couldn't see his face clearly but his voice sounded a lot familiar.
"Aren't you Casey's dog" He questioned. "Shhhh...Hey do I know you" He said Jogging to reach for my face.
I turned around only to see my nightmare.
"Snow" I sighed.
"Casey" He sighed back.
"Are you stalking me now" I raised an eyebrow.
"Can't seem to stay away from me too, can you" He joked.
Quite sneaky and sarcastic I replied, "Don't flatter yourself. I'm just taking a walk to clear my head"
"I see a lot happened while I was away" He assumed scanning me around yet again.
"That's right" I folded my lips together.
"What inspired you to be who you are now" Still continuing with his interrogative questions.
"Just realized I didn't wanna be that person I used to be anymore. I mean, can you blame me? Even butterflies do transform"
"They do but not in a mysterious way. You used to be a lot different. I mean you hated being a loser."
"It was all a fantasy. I've realized that loser or not, at the end of the day we're all the same."
"Does it scare you, to carry all that beauty, even if it's hidden under all those covers and layers" He asks.
"It never really used to be a thing but now it has become a big deal." I smiled.
"Okay, enough about me. So when are you going back to London" I asked.
"Not anytime soon. I got a permanent job here. So I'll be sticking around quite much."
"This is not gonna be a very pleasant year for me" I said to myself. "Oh, I see" I said turning my focus back to him.
"You know what? We should do something fun sometime." He requested forming a grin on his lips.
"I'm not sure that's a good idea" I bit my lower lip.
"Come on, as friends. Karaoke night at Warehouse next weekend" He raised an eyebrow, hard enough to reject his offer.
"Can't say no to that. But expect the new me with a lot of baggage to carry around with" I laughed.
"Old Casey, or new Casey. Still the same. He smiled and jogged along turning back to his street.
"What about your Cinderella" I teasingly yelled.
"I'll find her when she's ready to be found" He smirked.
I turned around with a bright smile on my face, causing the heat on my cheeks and made my way back home since it was getting really dark for a dark girl in a black hoodie.
