<-Lily's POV->
I sighed. I looked up at the stars that I could see and imagined what it would be like up in the sky.
"Are you alright, Lily?" My mom asked. I was startled. I forgot I was in the car with her and my family.
"Yeah, I'm just...tired," I responded. I clutched my book. My one friend seemed like this book, but I had friends. I just wish if I knew they were real or not.
It was late at night. My brothers were in the back, probably talking about undertale, my sister and her boyfriend, my sister saying his hands are soft, were in the middle, and Mom and I were upfront. Dad was with my grandparents to pick up their convertible.
"Alright, well don't worry," my mom said. "We're almost home so you'll be able to rest soon." She said. I nodded and looked down at my book. The Land Of Stories: The Enchantress Returns. I wish I could do what Alex and Connor did. Travel to a different world with the touch of a book. But I know that that's impossible.
"Hey, Mom," I asked. "Have you ever wondered what life would be like when I'm an adult?" Her face looked surprised by this question. I looked away, about to say sorry for bringing it up, but-
"No, not really, why?" she asked.
"Just wondering," I said and looked out the window again.

"Hey! Look, guys! It's the loser! Hi Loser Lily!"
"Ew! Why'd you touch me?"
"I-I-I-I'm sorry about that."
"Sure you are, Loser Lily."
I sobbed. Why does everyone hate me? Why does the world hate me? Is this punishment for me loving everything?
"Hey? Are you all right?" I turned around. I saw a tall girl with short black hair, a girl with long hair that was brown with blonde ends, my brothers, two boys with short hair one of them being dyed red, and one final boy that was shorter than my brother, Asher and had blonde-brown hair.
"I don't know anymore. Are you here to make fun of me?" I asked the girl.
"What! No! Why would I do that?" she asked with shock on her face.
"Because that's what everybody else does," I said truthfully. I felt tears welling up again.
"Well, we'll be your friends!" she said with enthusiasm.
"Really?" I asked unsurely. Were they actually going to be my friends? Were Jamie and Asher really going along with this?
"Of course! I'm Grace by the way," the girl said. She pointed at the girl behind her. "And this is Sara. Cole is the one with red, Jacob is the one next to him, Lance is the one next to Asher, Asher is next to Lance, and Jamie is the tall one."
"Jamie and Asher are my brothers," I said. I raised my hand to shake Grace's. "I'm Lily! It's knife to meet you!" No one laughed. They must've heard that one. Grace took my hand and got shocked. She looked at my hand and saw it. A buzzer. We all laughed. Looks like I'm going to fit in fine.

"We're home, Lily," my mom said. I jumped. I forgot I was in the car with everyone. I clambered out of the car, unlocked the door because everyone forgot their keys, and went inside and to my room. Finally. I thought. Alone. I got changed into my Pajamas and was ready to get into bed to read when I heard footsteps. In my room.
I turned and saw someone that looked like me. No, I wasn't looking in my mirror. She was my height, age, and weight. She looked like she killed someone, but that was just my imagination. Her hair was messy and she had weapons. She wasn't wearing my clothes, but a red shirt with blue jeans. I reached out and I touched her shoulder. She was real. I pulled out my knife, ready to strike. Like the girl, I also carry weapons.
"Who are you?" I asked.
"I'm Leka (Lay-KA). Nice to meet you," she reached out for a handshake, but I denied it. I threw the knife and she dodged. "That's no way to greet new people."
"You're not my mom," I said, ready to draw out another knife. "What do you want?"
"To make a deal," she said. I raised my eyebrow. "I'll help you beat up bitches, and in return, I'll live with you."
"You know I can handle those people by myself."
"What about you're parents?"
"Uhh..."
-x-
Blood. Pain. Everything hurts.
"Dad..." I mustered out. "Stop..."
"Dad! Let her go!" Jamie yelled.
"It's not cool to rape your own daughter!" Asher shouted.
Mom smacked them. "Shut your fucking mouths," she said. "Why can't you guys be like your sister?"
I then remembered Grace was coming over in three. Two. One.
"Hey, Lily! How are yo-" Grace stopped. She ran over and kicked my dad, so would he stop. "What the fuck is wrong with you? You can't rape your own daughter!"
"Help..." Her face was the last thing I saw.
-x-
"So," Leka said. "Do we have a deal?"
"I-I-I don't know."
"Didn't your dad rape you every other day when you were fifteen?" Leka said.
"How did you know?"
She tapped her head with her finger. "I can read memories."
"Why are you doing this?"
"Let's say," she paused. "My father was a bastard too."
"And your mom?"
"She," again, she paused. "was nice. Unlike your mom, she actually loved me and my siblings."
"Lucky."
She held out her hand. "Well?"
I hesitated. "You know what," I said. I grabbed her hand. "Fuck those bastards and bitches."
-x-
"Mom," I said.
"Yes, dear?" she turned to face me and saw me covered in bruises and blood. "What happened?"
"I got beat up."
"Why?"
"Cause," I braced myself. "I'm lesbian."
Mom pushed onto the ground. "You're a mistake."
-x-
"Mom never should of let me share a room with my gay sister," Ava, my sister, pushed me onto the ground.
-x-
"Why would we judge you for your sexuality?" Jamie asked.
"We love you for you!" Asher exclaimed.
-x-
"So how do you do it?"
"First," instructed Leka. "You take this heart necklace." She handed me a red heart necklace and I put it on.
"Now what?"
"Grab my hands," she reached out her hands and I took them. Suddenly, red energy picked me up into the air and I was floating. Leka smirked and jumped into my necklace as the red energy spun around me. Soon, it all stopped and I landed on the ground with a loud thud. Loud enough for my brothers to be concerned.
Asher and Jamie came running in. "Are you okay? Lily?" Jamie said, concern all over his face.
"I-I'm-" but before I could answer, a different voice moved my lips and spoke these words.
"I'm perfectly fine."
