Remedy POV

We were having a family dinner tonight. Mr Figuero was hosting Calvin, as he did to every new member of the company, to have a head start in sealing the contract.

I volunteered to cook the meals for the event, because Ms. Marshall was out because her son was in the hospital. Hennessy brought the grocery dumping then on the kitchen counter.

I smiled this is my thing. Cooking. I loved cooking as much as eating.

I began to pack away the grocery. "I know I said I'd help you but I have to go somewhere please," I raised a brow at Hennessy. "Castro and I have lunch but I just don't want to cancel on him you know, with all the secrets going around we never get time to do an-,"

"Shut up and going, you trying to pity me in letting you free and it worked," I replied in defeat. She smiled and threw me a playful wink.

I started my work.
🎶Over the bend entirely buckers you like me best when am off my rockers tell you a secret am not alarmed so what if am crazy the best people are 🎶

I was in full popstar mode and, the turkey was stuffed and ready to put in the oven.

I danced as I placed the turkey in the oven. As I closed the oven door (idk😂), I heard a low groan from behind me.

I turned around looking at Alex standing at the door, with his arm crossed, in jeans and a pleated shirt.

I smiled, "hey you,".

"Hey, what are you doing in the kitchen?" he asked his face changed emotions quickly. "Cooking. The maid's out so I volunteered," I smiled while stirring the sauce. " You need any help? I'm free until dinner," Alex offered.

I thought about it for a second but solemnly accepted. He couldn't be worst than Hennessy, right??

I stand corrected. Alex is worse than Hennessy in the kitchen. The only thing he is good at is chopping the vegetables. So I safely ordered him to chop the vegetables.

After his cute protest he gave in. "How is your grandpa?" He smoothly asked, I guess he was just trying to make small talk. "He's uh, good," I replied.

He softly bit he's bottom lip in concentration as the knife glided smoothly into the broccoli. I like his cherry pink lips. His peppermint taste, I wish I could just kiss him right now.
"You know Calvin's not a bad guy?" I said trying to divert my mind from his lips. "Yeah I know, he's horrible," Alex chuckled.

I smiled as I ran my hands down the black silk dress. It was a black silk spaghetti strap, cocktail dress reach my mid thigh. I heard laughter coming from down stairs, indicating Calvin was here. Hennessy joined me as we ascended the stair together.

I politely shook Calvin's hand and smiled my best. I stood beside Alexander, as the family started to make random chit chats.

Hennessy joined Alex and I and we started to make small talk. Soon after Castro arrived and joined us.

Alec leaned in and whispered"you look exquisite tonight,". I blushed as he winked at me. Castro and Hennessy was too engrossed in each other talking to notice anything that had just happen.

A small sweet looking lady came out and rang a bell," Dinner is served! ".

We all made our way to enormous dinning hall, taking our seats.

The large oval table held ten chairs. 4 to the right, 4 to the left side and 1 at each end.

Mr. Figuero sat at the head of the table with his wife to his right. Alec sat beside Hennessy, who sat beside Mrs. Figuero, having me seated beside him. Castro was to my right, with Calvin at the end of the table.

There were 2 other men and 2 other women seated across from us. I was told to be nice they were other branch managers.

I ate silently as Mr. Figuero held light chit chat with Calvin. What made me even more uncomfortable was Hennessy staring me way every 10 seconds to look at Castro.

I smiled when Mr. Figuero sent compliment to the Chef. Me, of course but Alec had to ruin my seven minutes in heaven.

"You know? I helped her too?" He stated. I sarcastic rolled my eyes. He's got to be kidding me.

"And to my son," Mr. Figuero finally gave in. Alec turned to me with a sinister smirk, that looked too hot for me to now blush, but just a bit.

One of the branch managers, Mr Hines I  think, started to ask about marketing in the area.

I wondered off continue to stared at the devilishly handsome man beside me. His tux was perfectly tailor down to the last stitch, his silky black hair neatly comb, in summary he looked like a tall glass of tall tan and handsome.

"Watcha staring at Buttercup?" Alex said winking at me. I diverted my mind from that big headed egotistic balloon.

I politely excused myself from the table and when out on the balcony on the third floor.

I leaned out and exhale. Sigh. I really needed that.

A warm hand slowly encircled my waist. I was startled at the sudden touch, I elbowed my opponent in the gut.

I heard a low grunt, as warm air slowly travelled down my spine.
"Son of a gun!" I smirked. Of course I was a bit sad I had hit him but he deserved it in some ways.

"I'm sorry Alex," I said turning around to face him. He concealed his pain with a cheerful smile. We both turned to the balcony and watch the beautiful night stars illuminated the dark sky.

"The night is so beautiful," I smiled at the view. "She sure is," he placed his warm palms on my bare back. I leaned on his shoulder, breathing in his scent, in a weird way, it comforted me.

"I wish you could just see how stunning you look tonight," He sighed. I stared at him both amazed and shocked.

My graze travel to his perfectly shaped lips. I leaned in, every fibre in my body was burning for him. Just to feel his lips on mine again, to taste him, but though my subconsciousness fought against it, it was losing horrible.

The space between was driving me wild. All I want to do was close the void. What was distance was now inches.

As his lips ghost over mine, Castro knocked on the balcony door.

Perfect timing. *Note the sarcasm*

"Yow Alex man, Your daddy's asking for you, says he has some new ideas for a product," Castro walked in.

"Yeah sure, I'll be right there," Alexander said finally diverting his eyes away from muddy eyes. He smoothly walk off, leaving me with a pit in my stomach and Castro to fill it.

"Listen Alex is not a good person to be involved with, there are things you don't know, things that will tear you or him apart," Castro stated looking quite a bit worried. He sighed and left. Sigh.
