"BY THE POWER INVESTED IN ME I PRONOUNCE YOU HUSBAND AND WIFE." Parker yelled. "RUN!" Everyone took off in separate directions, me staying with Willow. We ran away from the Lurkers, towards the back gate that eventually led to the same one the RV was parked. I didn't bother look behind me because I knew the boys would be okay. I could see Bennett behind me running, but tripping over her long dress and falling to the ground. She screamed and rolled onto her butt, clutching her ankle, she must've broken it. I start to run towards her but she held up her hand.
"No - please - go." She begged me.
"I can't -"
"You have to." she said just as a Lurker reached her. It gripped her arm and lowered its mouth to it, pulling away with a mouthful of flesh. I screamed and turned, grabbing Willows hand and beginning to run.
"Its - all my - fault!" she sobbed as we ran. I cried heavily as we dodged the Lurkers. I tried to hold it in, so I could concentrate.
"No it's not!" I said through my cries.
"Yes - it is!" she said wiping under her nose. I coughed, the back exit was up a hill and we were only half way. We both hear a blood curdling scream and turn to see Abby and Finn both get taken down. "NO!" Willow screamed but I grabbed around her waist and pulled her with me.
"We can't." I said. What is happening? Why is this happening? A few second ago they were reading their vows. We run harder up the hill, panting through our sobs. We didn't have many Lurkers around us and we were able to avoid the ones that were there. Abby, Finn and Bennett are dead. That leaves 6 left. I wasn't close to any of them, but it still tore me up inside. I sniffed and wiped under my eyes as the hill came to the end. Willow wailed and grabbed her stomach, struggling for air. I reach the back gate and shake it, finding it to have a padlock on it too. I pulled out my small hand gun and aimed, shooting off the lock. I tugged at the chain and pulled it off, dropping it on the ground and swinging the gate open. I pulled her through and turned right, onto a bare street with houses on one side. I let us breathe for a few seconds before the first Lurker pops through the gate and I know we have to go.
"What about Beau?" she said.
"He'll meet us here - he and Grey will make it." I said trying to convince myself. We run down the street holding the bottom of our dress to make it easier. My hair is falling out and into my face, making it difficult to see where I'm going. "Left." I say at the end of the street. We turn towards the left and spot the RV, sitting bare and alone, all Lurkers being inside. "Just a bit further." Willow gasps for breath as we half walk half run towards the RV, out of breath and out of hope. She limps and holds her side, silently crying to herself. Her bun has come out and is all over the place, as well as her make up running down her face from crying. We walk the last 10m towards the RV, breathing in as much air as we can. I tug at the door and it pops open, letting us inside to the empty RV. Willow goes in first and collapses on the floor, wailing in pain. I close the door behind her and fall onto my knees next to her. "You have to stop - be quiet. We can't cry - yet, it's too - too dangerous." I said holding my sobs in. she covers her mouth, but it doesn't help. I look around and find a pillow and hand it to her. She buries her face into it and sobs, they sound being a muffled scream. I get up and walk to the couch, sitting down in shock. I find myself frozen, not wanting got move. I can't move until I know he is alive. Until I know Grey is still breathing. I stare into an empty space, trying got figure out what just happened. The chain Grey hooked up on the gate didn't hold - they got in; so far Abby, Bennett and Finn are dead. Just like that. Within 2 minutes we lost everything. A frantic knock on the door made me snap back into reality. I stand and walk silently over to the door, opening it to reveal Lincoln. He pushes past me in and slams the door behind me. His eyes go from me to Willow on the ground crying into the pillow, then around the empty RV.
"Did he?" he said looking back down to Willow.
"We don't know. But we saw Abby, Finn and Bennett get taken down." I mumbled, hardly believing it as it came out of my mouth. He grabbed my arm and pulled me away from Willow, making sure she couldn't hear. His eyes were watery and he had been crying. "What?" I asked.
"I - I was with Nikki and Parker - and - they - they both were taken down." He whispered. My heart sank. Parker was Willow's twin. Her brother. She was worried about Beau, but I guess she thought her and Parker would grow old together.
"What?" she whispered behind us. I turned to look at her, a tear dropping onto my cheek. How can I tell her this? "Beau?" she asked. I shook my head, trying not to burst into tears. Her chin began to wobble and a tear fell onto her cheek. "Parker?" she asked nodding.
"I'm so sorry.' I said. her shoulders began to shake but she didn't bury her head.
"No." she refused to believe it. "No. he - he's isn't -"
"He was with me and Nikki and, we got surrounded. I got out and turned to see them both - on the ground - with Lurkers everywhere around them." Lincoln stuttered.
"No." Willow cried. "NO." I walked over to be by her side. I wrapped my arms around her and hugged, while she sobbed into my shoulder. My head popped up when 3 knocks echoed around the RV. I looked at Lincoln and he began to move towards the door. He opened it, but I couldn't see who it was.
"Hey." He said.
"Is she here?" Grey said stepping in.
"Grey?" I said standing. "Grey!" I left Willow on the ground and fell into his arms. Lincoln stepped out and looked around, before closing the door, no one coming in after him. I pulled away from Grey and looked into his eyes and saw the sadness. I knew what it meant. "No." I whispered. Willow stood and wiped under her eyes, watching as Lincoln closed the door behind Grey. She looked from him to the door, then back to him. I looked at Willow, whose eyes filled up quickly and soon overflowed. She just got the message.
"I couldn't do anything." Grey said weakly. Willow hugged herself as she slowly dropped to the ground. Lincoln locked the door, knowing no one else will be coming through it. Not Bennett, Abby or Nikki. Not Finn or Parker. Not Beau. Willow had lost everything today. Her brother, her husband. I let go of Grey and sat down next to her, folding her in my arms. Her shoulders began to shake and soon I felt moisture on my arm. I stroked her hair as I began to cry, allowing myself to finally let go. We lost 6 people today. 6 incredible people.
