Chapter 4. Explanations and the Enemy
Percy's POV"So, can you guys please explain to us more about that godly stuff?" Clint asks us.
"So, how many of you know a lot about Greek/Roman mythology?" Annabeth, being the smart one, asked them. Natasha, Steve, and Bruce raised their hands.
"Alright, so the Greek gods are real, just like the Norse gods are. Along with some other gods like Roman ones too. The Greek gods move from country to country every few centuries, and just like the old Greek times, they meet some people, get all comfy with them, and end up with demigod children. The mortal parent has to look after the kid, and the mortals usually don't know the identity of the godly parent." She explains the simple stuff.
"So, who is your godly parent?" Clint asks.
"Mine is Athena, Percy's is Poseidon-" Annabeth starts, but I cut her off.
"AKA, the best god of the universe!" Wise Girl only rolls her eyes! How rude of her to roll her eyes at the PERSASSY!
"Nico's is Hades, and Thalia's is Zeus." This time she says without any interruption. When she finishes, Thalia bursts into a full-blown explanation of the latest news, with short remarks from Nico and me. Oh, and don't forget the new Artemis's Hydra Hunting Hacks and Aphrodite's Hidden Hair Hacks on HTV (Hephaestus TV)!
"Can I add something? What were those weird creatures we saw at the warehouse?" Tony asks, and the Avengers all nod. The demigods share a nervous glance. These mortals shouldn't be able to see through the mist. It can't be a coincidence that these people in one place can see monsters. But I see Annabeth's mind gears turning.
"Unless... No. That can't be. Hmm. What if Hecate's magic has stopped working?" Annabeth mumbles quietly to herself but failing, as we all heard her.
"WHAT?" Nico and I shout.
"Calm down! It's just a small, stupid thought. There is a chance it was a coincidence, so we shouldn't worry too much about it." Annabeth confirms, but I noticed a slight hesitation to her words as if she doubted herself. Plus, we all know that there is no such thing as a coincidence in the demigod world.
I notice Nico and Thalia's curious faces. But Tony breaks the silence, "JARVIS, can you get two extra bedrooms prepared for our guests Thalia and Nico."
"Yes, Sir." the AI replies, and the team returns to their rooms after the long day.
Nico's POV
As I stepped into my room, my mind was clouded with curious thoughts. Could it be that Hecate's magic had stopped working? What force would be strong enough to capture her? But I shook those negative thoughts away and studied the room I will be staying in. It was pretty huge. There was a king-sized bed covered by black curtains. The walls were painted a dark black, and the floor was grey with a black carpet. The closet had several drawers in it, and the worktable was of oak.
I walked over to the closet and opened a drawer that had the word, 'Suit' on it. Inside was a black raven suit with skulls and silver stripes across the back. It had a scaly surface and was finished with a mask that covered my eyes only but stayed on without falling off.
I then visited Percy, Annabeth, and Thalia's rooms too. Percy's was --as expected-- blueish greenish and had a fish tank filled with nemos and stuff. Annabeth's was grey and had huge bookshelves. Thalia's room was electric blue and had a mini arrow sharpening machine. The rooms all had the same size and layouts.
Now, I've got to make an essential visit to the place where my father lives. I returned to my room and found a dark shadow in the corner.
"Dad, I've gotta ask you something..." I say, anxious about what my mouth was going to say. "Has Hecate given you a visit lately?"
"Why'd you ask, son? But anyway, --now that I think of it-- no she hasn't been visiting in the past few weeks." Hades, my dad replies with ease, not realizing the possible danger.
"Well, you see, Percy and Annabeth joined this group of mortal superheroes, and yesterday, when they called us to do a mission, monsters attacked us. It was nothing unusual, but the mortals we're able to see through the most. Everyone was able to see through the mist. Percy, Annabeth, Thalia, and I thought that it might have to do with Hecate." I explained.
UNKNOWN'S POV
I can't believe he failed his purpose. He was meant to make sure the demigods do not find out about Hecate! Instead, the demigods are now suspicious! I knew I shouldn't have trusted him after he failed the last mission.
"Has Hecate given you a visit lately?" Nico, the Hades-scum, asks his father. I eavesdrop on the conversation from the underworld. Hades never appreciated all the hard work I put into helping him. This was my chance at payback. I can finally make justice once and for all!
Those Avengers and the Demigods will all disappoint, and everyone will be freed. The so-called 'heroes' did nothing but later, the inevitable.
