Chap 1: Reverse falls

*Pacifica's POV*

Reverse falls slowly crept up into the scenery, tall trees towering over me. Why was I here? Well my parents decided that I needed to go and "make some new friends and have fresh air," whatever that meant. I'm just happy that I was allowed to bring my pet hen, Hannah. Hannah tucked her head under my arm and began searching my pockets for food, then pecking me until she found some. 

It took my mum and dad a lot of convincing to make me come here. I'm not spoilt, at least I don't think so. I just wanted to hang out with my best friends, Tiffany and Jennifer. The conversation with my parents went something like this:

"Come on Paz, it's just one summer!"

"But I promised Tiffany that we would watch the new season of Duck-tective together!"

"Paz! This is your chance to get a boyfriend! Isn't that what you've always wanted?"

"Honey don't put any ideas in her head. She's only 14."

"Perfect age."

"If I go, can I bring Hannah?"

*silence*

"Fine" 

"Yes! Thanks guys!"

I smiled at the memory and laughed to myself. As if I was gonna get a boyfriend in 9 weeks. 

"Reverse Falls. All off"

"Thanks!"

I skipped downed the gravel path, running towards my 12 year old cousin, Gideon. I tackled him into a hug, possibly giving him a small heart attack.

" Paz. Nice to see you."

"Same here!"

I smiled at him and he sort of smiled back. At least I would have one friend here, even if he's  my cousin.
