I had felt somewhat better after Michael had told me all this, but of course the worry and all stayed.
"Lays, maybe you should sleep." Michael said to me, as he seemed to study me.
I shook my head and took a sip of the water that was on the coffee table. I wasn't tired. Okay, maybe a little. But I wouldn't be able to sleep anyway.
"I think you should try. You need it." He told me, now getting up from the couch. He then extended his hands towards me and I took them with a sigh. He pulled me up and started to lead me to the stairs.
"Michael?" He stopped and turned to look at me, "Yeah?"
"Can I... Maybe spend the night with you?" His puzzled look disappeared and he smiled slightly.
"If you want that." He led me to one of the guest rooms on the ground floor, where he made the bed, before turning to me again, "Do you need anything like a pyjama? I'll go get it for you if you want me to."
"Yeah, thanks." He left the room and I let out another sigh, suddenly feeling a little awkward in this empty room. No idea why though. And by every second, or minute, that passed, I started to feel a little more awkward. Maybe it was the fact that I asked Michael to spend the night in the same room as me?
"I just grabbed what was on your bed, as I assume you put it there for a reason." I smiled at him and took the small bundle of clothes he was holding out to me.
"You can change, I'll clean up the living room."
"You don't have to, it's my house."
He smiled as he grabbed the door handle.
"It's okay." With that he left the room once again and I changed into my pyjamas. I left my other clothes on the ground near the door, knowing I would take them to my room some time.
Not much later I heard a knock on the door, followed by Michael saying, "Are you done?"
"Yeah, it's save to come in." I said with a small chuckle, letting myself fall on the bed.
Michael entered the room and smiled at me. I saw he had on something different as well and was sure he had gotten it from Ashton's room. Not that I really minded though.
I crawled underneath the duvet and saw Michael doing the same on the other side of the bed. I rolled over and looked at him, to see him looking back.
"Don't ever leave, please." I whispered, not wanting to experience what I had had the day before again, ever.
"I won't." He whispered back, pulling me into his chest and embracing me tightly. I let out a sigh of content before we both fell asleep, hearing only the beating of our hearts at the same time.

I frowned, suddenly not used to waking up after a good night of sleep.
"Morning." A hoarse voice close to me suddenly mumbled.
I opened one eye to see a half asleep Michael looking at me. I closed my eye again and chuckled softly.
"Good morning. Did you sleep okay?" I whispered, not sure why, but maybe it was just the silent house that had a somehow calming effect I liked.
"Hmm. Did you?" I nodded and then opened my eyes, stretching and rolling away from Michael.
I got up and stretched one more time, before rubbing my eyes and turning around, to see Michael lying on his stomach, spread on the whole bed. I chuckled and shook my head, then deciding I could use a shower.
