Author's Notes: Sorry I'm uploading so late. I wanted to make sure I had a solid footing on this story before uploading any more chapters. I'm not going to lie to you guys, I still don't. Enjoy the chapter though!
Jericho was a saint sent from the heavens for Ahri. He carried everything with ease. She also has to admit that he didn't look half bad with his sleeves rolled up and thick-rimmed glasses sitting nicely on his face.
Ahri carries her pillow, a box with some pictures and friendly home reminders, and a bag full clothes. Jericho carries all the heavy stuff.
They entered through their respective doors and put Ahri stuff down in the hall.
Ahri dusted off her hands and rested them on her hips. "So where's my room?" She asked with a smile.
Jericho froze in his tracks and turned to Ahri. "Did you not get the email I sent you?" His question makes Ahri's raise a brow and shakes her head no. Now Jericho is backed into a corner.
The bear straightens himself and apologizes to Ahri gesturing to the large room that was half decorated. "We may have a helpful asset in paying for our rent, but the problem was that no one seemed willing to leave. So Leon, Ace, and I decided that once you arrived we'll discuss things."
A crack had formed in Ahri's perfect plan. She's about to get kicked out of an apartment she worked so hard to receive. And if she stays then she'll be stuck with a bunch of boys. Ahri was falling apart a little on the inside but she didn't let that show on her face. She simply took it as it was and will think about this later.
"So what should I do then?" Ahri asked with some concern.
Jericho didn't know how to respond. He wanted to give Ahri some reassurance, but then again he didn't want to give her any false hope.
Instead, the front opened and closed forcefully, it shook Jericho and Ahri.
"You're back earlier than normal," Jericho said some distaste.
In walked Leon, a lion hybrid with a temper and curly brown hair. He wore a leather jacket, a t-shirt, dark jeans, and heavy black boots. He looked like the bad boy of all bad boys.
"What's it to you sun bear?" Leon growled as he walked to the fridge.
Jericho quickly backed off knowing full well that lion hybrids have a knack for being stubborn and prideful. A dangerous combination if anyone asks.
Leon pulled out a soda and a cheese stick. He then retreated into his room, stepping over Ahri while growling at her to watch it.
The door slams one more time, letting everyone in the apartment complex know that Leon was in a bad mood.
"He's..."
"He's tenacious and childish," Jericho grumbles before retreating back into his own room.
All that was left was Ahri who stood in the halls with her stuff and a horrible start to moving in.
The fox sighed, letting her tail and ears droop. "This is a lot harder then I thought."
As things couldn't get worse. They do.
All at once the power goes out in the building. Of course, the only thing to blame is the construction going on next door.
The entire apartment lets out a collective groan.
Ahri grabs her tail out of surprise. Are you serious? Right now!? Out of all the stupid things to ruin this day? It's the lights.
Throughout the day Ahri tried to distract herself. There was nothing to help her with that at all. Tv doesn't work, lights aren't working and Ahri's brain is melting out of her ears, all four of them, due to boredom.
She started to get a little peckish, but she doesn't know what she's allowed to eat and what she's not allowed to eat. And if she gets kicked out then she'll feel bad for taking food with her.
As time ticks by, Ahri's peckish feeling grows into hunger. She ignores the feeling by playing around on her phone. The phone doesn't solve the problem though and her hunger grows.
Ahri crawls down from the couch and heads to the kitchen in hopes of finding something her roommates wouldn't miss.
The fox tiptoed around to find something sweet or maybe salty. She doesn't know which snack she'd want yet, but whatever she stumbles on first she'll eat.
She opened the large fridge with a heavy tug and pull. It was like finding the holy grail and it put a large smile on the fox's face. A sustainable amount of juice boxes sat at the bottom of the fridge and each time Ahri glanced at them they looked more and more tempting.
Ahri couldn't take it anymore. She reached into an open juice box case and pulled out the box filled with sugary, fruity liquid. Little did the sly fox know that she was being watched.
The fox closed the fridge as quietly as possible making sure no one would hear her.
Ahri turned around with her newfound prize and ran right into two pillars. Ahri dropped the juice box as fear ran up her body.
This person stood taller than the lion-hybrid and that's what scared Ahri the most. Her last roommate had made an appearance and a terrifying one at that.
Their orange and black tail flicked back and forth like a cat's. The flaming sharp blue eyes piercing through the dimly lit room is somewhat calming and scary for the fox.
They bent down and picked up the juice box. They flipped it over in their hands like they were examining it.
A Cheshire like grin cut through the dark. "Orange punch. Good choice." The voice purred.
The sound of plastic tearing and a low pop filled the air.
Ahri shook out of fear that they would be mad. Instead, the box was placed back in her hands with the staw pointed at her. The fox stared at the box then up at the person, but they were gone in the blink of an eye.
The lights came back on after that. Such odd timing for the incident to occur.
Ahri stood up and dusted herself off. She glanced around to find the stranger that was oddly kind to her in their own strange way, but there was no sign of them. She eyed the box curiously then took a short sip. Whoever they were, they have good taste in juice.
