Stone Cold

| AU where a statue of a young man is displayed. Anyone can touch him for there is a myth around him. Whenever his soulmate touches him he will return to human. But it's just a myth.

Centuries ago a young Dick Grayson was resting on a rock, watching the others go by. Him and 4 more people were told to go slay an evil witch.
He despised his 'team' and they despised him.

There was Artemis a trained marksman(woman).

Conner a strong brute that had no brains.

Kaldur, who took up the role of being leader, although he and Dick bumped heads from time to time.

And lastly Megan, a petite girl who won't be attacking, but catering to the wounds they had afterward.

Making their way up on top of the mountain they saw an old rickety house. Out front was an old woman.. A blind old woman.

"You! hag!" Screamed Dick, "where's the witch?"

"Witch? There is no witch here young man. But you should watch who you're calling a hag."

The group shared perplexed looks.

"We apologize, but we're looking for the witch who has put a curse upon our land." Gently spoke Kaldur.

"Where's the witch and we'll be on our way," spoke Artemis.

"Such a pretty girl you are.." The old woman got up, pointing a finger at Artemis. "Your devil blood will be great for dinner tonight!"

With a swish of her hand, Artemis was up in the air, before being thrown against a tree.

She got up growling, but before she could do anything Conner went running by her.

"Conner, wait!"

But the threat came too late. Conner disappeared in a cloud of smoke. In his place stood a wooden figure of him. Arm raised to strike but frozen there.

"You stupid old hag! Why don't you just die already!" Yelled Dick raising his sword and throwing it.

She disappeared in a cloud of smoke, the sword falling to the ground. She appeared behind Kaldur and simply tapped him on the shoulder. He swung but stopped mid-swing.

He fell to the ground, no sound escaping. It looked like he was having a seizure. His lips were parted and he was gasping for air. Right before their eyes, they witnessed their leader turn to a fish.

Gills opened on his neck, his finger and toes becoming webbed. They heard his bones breaking and replacing themselves at odd angles. Some poking out of his skin, but yet no sound came out of him. His legs turned to a tail, arms becoming fins. And all they could do was watch as the last bit of humanity was stripped from him.

Artemis shrieked, collapsing to the ground. Rounding on Dick she shrieked, "this is your fault!"

"My fault!?"

"Yes, you're fault. You were the one who riled her up." She collapsed in a fit of tears.

Dick ran over to his sword. He was just one more step away, but his foot wouldn't budge.

He glanced down and noticed his feet were turned to stone. Not only that but it was creeping up his legs.

In a puff of smoke his clothes were gone and in place was a towel. He grabs it with his right hand, before trying to reach his sword with his left.
