Chapter 37: Bad feeling

Jeongyeon's Pov

Nick ran off, saying he had just stopped by to give me this gift. A pack of tea that is clearly similar to the one that Nayeon gave me a few days ago.

"Is this why Nayeon's acting strange since she received these from Nick? "

I don't want to suspect Nick or Y/N they have been really great people to let us stay in their house. Nick was a bit suspicious—no, he was a bit off when we first met, like there was just something about him, and I don't know why. Y/N she's a great person?

"Wait, why did I say that like a question?"

She is a woman. Well, duh, that is obvious. What I mean is that she's fine, she's really great, and she is a bit awkward around us, but I can tell that she's being genuine and careful about taking care of our needs and constantly asking if we have anything we need or something. She's been amazing while that man, who was the only man in that house, didn't do anything and would sometimes come over without prior notice and such. He is annoying and just irritates me, but she's her friend, and I don't really know anything about them. Wait, are they in a relationship? Is that why he is constantly around her? But she's an idol now. I should maybe report this to Jyp-nim, and then they would break up and not be together; besides, she doesn't like her anyway, so it's totally fine and okay. I am just protecting her for her career and her future, right? Wow, I just sound like a terrible person right now. What the actual fuck!? What am I thinking?

"Hello, Jeongyeon unnie." A tap on my shoulder made me flinch and almost drop the pack. I was about to yell at the person who suddenly disturbed my disturbing thoughts. It's her, Y/N. I didn't notice that I was staring at her too much with a dumbfounded expression until she chuckled and called me again.

"Unnie?"

"Y-yeah?" She chuckled, seemingly to ease the tension, or maybe awkwardness, that I am experiencing.

"Are you okay?" she asked me while staring at me with a smile. I mean, I wouldn't know if she's smiling because of her mask, but you can tell if a person is smiling if their eyes are in that way. You know what I mean, right?

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just thinking that these might be the reasons that Nayeon's been acting strange or something." She raised her brows as if to ask, "Really?" She asked me who gave it to me and followed with a thing she said about "checking the goods" to confirm if it really is. I didn't question her about what she'd do to those, and I just went with the flow. I didn't answer the question about who gave it to me I might break her relationship with Nick and she might be broken hearted and sad about it. So, until it's been confirmed that the tea has something suspicious about it, I will just stay quiet for now.
