"Emma! How could you! Why didn't you tell me your were dating Ethan Dolan." Amanda bombarded Emma when she stepped foot into the cafe.
Emma's eyes widened in surprise," How do you know about Ethan?"
"It's all over the internet." Amanda said.
"What!" Emma said.
Amanda shoved her phone into Emma's face, "Look for yourself."
There it was in big, bold letters. The headline read "Ethan Dolan spotted with a new girl at the Fonda." There was a clear picture of them talking at the bar.
"He lied to me. He said he worked in advertising. Ethan never mentioned once that he was famous." Emma said.
"Technically he does work in advertisement. Just look at his ass in those jeans. I'm more than willing to go out an buy some now that I've seen them on his fine ass." Amanda teased.
Emma glared at her. "Hey," Amanda said.
"Don't look at me like that, You know I'm right. Plus it's your fault for living under a rock. If you had some knowledge about pop culture maybe you wouldn't feel so blind sided. OR if you would have listened to me the other day when I was ranting about him you would have had some clue." Amanda said.
"I feel like an idiot." Emma groaned.
"I got too caught up in my emotions yesterday to think rationally." Emma said.
"What are you talking about?" Amanda said.
"We're from completely different worlds. You can't tell me you think this is going to work out." Emma said.
"Emma relax. I think you're overthinking this. He's your soulmate, your other half that was literally made for you. It's just the nerves talking. Don't let your fears come and ruin it." Amanda said.
"The logical side of my brain is telling me that you're right, but the other half of me is saying that this is a bad idea." Emma said.
"Why?'' Amanda asked.
"I can just feel it in my gut." Emma said.
"You sure it's not just the coffee causing some indigestion?" Amanda said.
"Amanda I'm serious!" Emma exclaimed.
"So am I. All I ask is that you sleep on it. I don't want you to psych yourself out and do something you'll regret." Amanda said.
Emma agreed and they got back to work before Jason could come out and yell at them. Amanda was right though. Maybe she was overthinking it.
.......................................
Emma was locking up when she heard a deep voice behind her.
"You've been avoiding me." Ethan said.
Emma jumped and held her hand to her chest as she tried to settle her racing heart.
"Jeez, don't sneak up on people like that." Emma chastised him.
"You're not denying it." Ethan said.
"Look Ethan, I'm tired. I just finished a 12 hour shift. Is there anyway we can do this some other time?" Emma asked.
"It's been two weeks Emma. If we don't do this now how long will this go on for? One week, 3 weeks, a month, a year? What's going on?" Ethan asked.
"I need time." Emma said.
"Time? It'd not like I'm asking to marry you or have you move in with me. I thought we could at least text from time to time or have some lunch." Ethan said.
