Because I intend to be a teacher, in my junior year French class, I participated in a deep dive into the French education system, looking to compare my American public school to a French high school. That project was one of the most thought-provoking experiences that I have ever had. At Brown, I would explore other education systems around the world, perhaps through studying abroad, to advance my knowledge and apply new skills to my own teaching style.
I aspire to create a club―even if it does not relate to my major. I grew up watching E! Red Carpet Coverage, Project Runway, and Fashion Police. This club, similar to Joan Rivers' Fashion Police, meets after major red carpet events, such as the Oscars, or fashion shows, perhaps during New York Fashion Week. I have dreamed of such a club for years, and Brown's open curriculum could make my dream a reality. I love creating outfits with the clothes I have in my closet, but I know it would be a difficult career to succeed in, for it is a competitive industry. Although my plans to study Secondary Education with heavy interest in fashion is an odd juxtaposition, Brown's open curriculum would allow me to combine my passions into a dream college experience. The freedom to create clubs like this, deep dive into other cultures, and study abroad, checks every box that I could wish for, and I hope Brown allows me to follow these dreams.
