Being a student at Boston University would help me continue achieving my academic standards while also encouraging my adventurous side, which is all I can ask for in a university. The opportunities that Boston University offers students is incredible. I am especially drawn to the study abroad programs offered. The fact that Boston University offers over a hundred programs for studying abroad encourages me to follow my passion for travel and adventure, which is exhilarating for me as a prospective student. Being a student at Boston University would excite me every day, pushing me to follow my passions.
In addition to my enthusiasm for the university, I also have a special affection for the city of Boston. I am from a suburb outside of Chicago, but I have always had family that lives in, or near, Boston. Because of that, I visit the city often. Boston has the same home-like feeling as I have in Chicago, I immediately fell in love with the city. I have visited almost every summer since I was five, so Boston is my home away from home.
Part of why Boston feels so comfortable to me is because of Boston sports. I am a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan, and always will be, but Boston knows our suffering. The Curse of the Bambino, a painful relative of the Curse of the Billy Goat, showed me that Boston is not drastically different from my home city. It even made me eager to explore the differences from one city to the other. Of course Chicago has the classic deep dish pizza, but boy is Regina's Pizza a beautiful menu for my palette to explore.
