The Losers had normal lives . Or , they thought they had . Everything seemed normal until kids began disappearing without a trace . Everything seemed alright with them until they each had a " nightmare " of the same man who said that it was time for " the games to begin . " The next morning , they woke up . . . different .

Each of the Losers were gifted with an ability , a power that could help defeat a cosmic entity called Pennywise , whom was the cause of all the other children disappearing . They worked together with their newfound gifts and it seemed that the demonic clown was gone . Well , at least for another twenty - seven years . Bur they thought their powers would go away too . Oh how wrong they were .
