I was finally able to go back to school on Monday. I was still a little sluggish, and my throat wasn't too great, but it wasn't something I couldn't handle.
"Take a seat, everyone, and open up your textbooks to page...345. Get this paper passed around and work on it until the end of class."
I groaned, not ready for any work. I opened up my textbook, and started answering the questions on the paper. I finished in twenty minutes, leaving me almost forty more minutes of class time.
"I have an important announcement to make." Said Mrs. Price, making everyone stop what they were doing to take a small break.
"Since it's February, and Valentine's Day is coming in two weeks, Mr. Crawford and I volunteered our classes to decorate for the upcoming dance. Everyday starting from tomorrow, we will be taking thirty minutes off of class time to go into the gym and decorate. Everything will be supplied, so there should be no excuses. I better see you all tomorrow and the rest of the two weeks in the gym. Continue."
High fives were heard and girls' chatter started, but soon everyone went back to work so they wouldn't lose the opportunity.
I sighed and slumped in my seat, not wanting to decorate. I wasn't a very creative person. Ever. I would rather stay in class than decorate for some dance.
About thirty minutes later, the bell rang, indicating it was time for second period. I packed my stuff and headed to my worst nightmare, Mr. Jay's class, where everything I've tried so hard to forget will flood back in.
I plopped in my seat and grunted, feeling like I was going to throw up.
"Nice having you back, Adrianna, read pages 346 through 353 and explain the Marbury v. Madison court case. "
"I'd prefer to be called Adrian, sir, thank you."
"You're welcome."
"So, your real name's Adrianna, huh?" I heard the oh so familiar voice of a certain boy.
"Please leave me alone, I don't want to cause you any trouble, and I don't want you to cause me any trouble."
"Oh, sweetheart, you won't be causing me any trouble."
"Excuse me?" I turned around and glared at him. Oh if only looks could kill, Luke Hemmings would be six feet under by now.
"You heard me, honey."
"You are such a disgusting sight, and I hate every word that comes out of your dirty mouth." Each and every single word dripped with venom, full of hate and disgust.
We all try to run away from our feelings by insulting that specific person or thinking negatively about them, but they always come back. No matter what.
"You'll be kissing this dirty mouth in just a couple of weeks, trust me."
"Wanna bet on that?" I challenged him.
"Why not? When I know victory is mine." Just as he said that, the tardy bell rang and class started.
