Lily

It's been a week since Gunned explained his past, and actually, we'be grown so much closer since then.

I'm really kinda liking being his girlfriend. I don't have those night cries anymore because he's always clung to my side at night.

He's so sweet.

"Try not to burn them this time" I laugh, ruffling his hair as I walk past him.

"You know I can't cook! Another reason I have my girl toys! They cook for me the next morning" he groans and I sit down. "Can you help me?"

"Nope! You're twenty three! No more depending on other people to make your meals! I sure as hell aren't!" I bite into a peppermint candy cane.

"It's not even Thanksgiving! Put the Christmas candy away!" Gunner snaps the candy cane from me.

"You bitch!" I smack him.

"I'm not gonna sit there and watch you eat candy canes when it's November" he says.

I smack my forehead and he smirks. "So what's the plan today?" I ask.

"A hike?" he turns the stove off and sticks MY candy cane in HIS mouth. I groan. "What's wrong?" he smirks.

"What happened to no Christmas candy before Thanksgiving?" I cross my arms.

"Oh no, was it yours?" he mischievously smiles before getting closer to me. "Do you want it back?"

"I do" I huff and he passionately kisses me.

And I taste the peppermint.

**

I pant and Gunner looks at me. "Oh come on! We're only two miles in! You're already tired?"

I shoot a glare him. "Not everyone is fir, jackass"

He sighs and kneels down. "I got you. Hop on"

"Okay!" I gladly jump on his back.

"Alright, lets go" he laughs and stands up, starting to walk.

I rest my head on his shoulder. "It's so peaceful" I say softly, but don't get a response. With my eyebrows pushed together, I look ahead and see Gunner eyeing a blonde girl, who both later on smirk and wink at each other.

I frown and close my eyes. "Oh yeah, it is" Gunner finally replies.

"Yeah" my mood goes down.

I don't even see why I'm upset, I mean, he's not technically my boyfriend. He's just friend to me.

He stops in his tracks, cashing me to open my eyes.

"We gotta go" he puts me down and takes my hand, dragging me down the hill.

I gasp and turn around to see a boy about Gunner's age and height.

"Who is that?" I ask.

"Who? I'm just tired of walking and wanna get home" he says in stern.

I raise an eyebrow and pull my hand away. "Who. Is. The. Dude. Gunner?" I return the stern.

He stomps. "DAMNIT, LILY! MIND YOUR BUSINESS!"

I sigh in defeat. "I'm sorry"

"You're going home and my ass is going out. And before you ask where, it's none of your business, beautiful" he angrily pats my head.

"Whatever" I scoff and he glares at me. "Mhm"

He grows furious, but doesn't do or say anything.

**

It's ten o'clock.

Where is he?

Just as I'm about to head to bed, the bedroom door opens, revealing Gunner with mesh hair and hickeys on his neck.

I gulp.

"Aw you stayed up for me?" he laughs and slides off his sweatpants.

"Where did you go?" I ask.

"My fuck buddy" he walks into the bathroom, shutting the door.

I frown and close my eyes.

He cheated.

Well, he didn't because weren't not really dating, but he still cheated.

It doesn't hurt, no, it just... makes me sad.

Wait, doesn't that mean it hurt?

I see why he did it... I can't satisfy him like he wants.

And never will.

**

"Morning" I sit on the ledge of our kitchen table.

"Look, I'm sorry for getting pissed at you. I was just upset and needed a pleasure, you know? You're not ready, so, I need a way" he places his hands on my hips.

I feel a spark when he touches me.

"Yeah... I know" I fake a smile. "Something I gotta get use to"

"Yeah" he kisses my forehead.

"It's been a week now... how have you still not found my parents murder?" I tilt my head.

"It's difficult now, now that I've finally told you The Red Hooders are over and now that I have no Archers to help" he replies. "But I'm working on it. I have a few leads"

I smile and nod.

He walks back to the stove where he attempts to make bacon.

"So uh... what happened back there? On the hike?" I take a risk and ask.

He stops what he's doing and looks at me, frowning. "Eddie was there"

My eyes widen. "Your brother?" I ask and he nods. "W-why didn't you talk to him?"

"I'm a coward, beautiful. Everyone knows that. Things aren't gonna go back to how they were before Genesis died" he clenches his jaw and returns cooking.

I get off of the table and wraps my arms around him from behind, resting my head on his back. "I'm here for you, Gun. And I want things with your family to go back to how it was before you left. Things will get better. I promise" I go on my tippy toes to kiss his cheek.

He clenches his jaw and I pull back.

"Ready for breakfast?" he sighs and I tilt my head. "What's wrong?"

I shake my head. "Nothing. I'm just use to you being so happy that you made a breakfast that wasn't burnt" I grab a plate.

"Yeah..." he trails off and puts the egg, rice, and toast on my plate before turning back around, trying to hide his upset face.

I frown.

I hate seeing him so upset...
