I wake up to my hair being stroked, causing me to smile and look up. "Hey"
"Hey" Gunner kisses my forehead. "About last night-"
"I- let's just not talk about it... I have my thoughts" I frown.
"About me?"
"No, my parents"
"O-"
"Wha's today?" I sit up and he hisses in pain. "Sorry!"
"It's fine" he fakes a smile and I hesitantly smile, grabbing my phone. The ends of my lips then curve down. "What's wrong?"
"It's Thanksgiving..." I turn to him.
He pulls me into his chest. "You know, I use to hate Thanksgiving after Genesis died since we would all spend it as a family. Then I officially moved out of the house and I completely had nobody. Not mama waking us up. Not dad making jokes. Not Eddie bothering me. And not Layla burning the food with mama" he pauses. "But now I have everyone back. Besides Genesis. But, he's always in my heart and I know he's there spending Thanksgiving with us. You found your people too, beautiful. You have all of us to spend it with"
I hug him. "Thank you"
"You are so loved" he wraps his arms around me.
"What got into you? Why are you so nice?" I chuckle, joking, but also serious.
"I just realized some shit" he rubs my back and I smile, resting my head back on him.

"Want us to stay?" Layla asks with a sad tone.
Gunner smiles and picks her up. "It's Thanksgiving! I'm not spending it without my family anymore!" he laughs and kisses her cheek.
"Eeeew" she laughs.
He chuckles and lets her down.
I smile.
"Doesn't your wrist hurt?" Callie chuckles.
Gunner shakes his head. "Not anymore"
"Mhm" Eddie smirks and Layla sticks her tongue out at me.
"God, I've missed you so much" Tagg hugs Gunner.
He hugs him back. "I've missed all of you. Especially for the holidays"
"We're not leaving" Tagg hugs him back.
"Neither am I" Gunner smiles.
I love this. So much.
Gunner and his family together.
"I'm gonna go pick up the ham! And grab the turkey and other foods from the house!" Callie squeals.
Gunner looks at her. "Can I go with you?"
She smiles and excitedly nods. "Of course! We can go now!"
So enthusiastic.
Gunner nods and looks at me. "Will you be okay here with them, beautiful?" he asks and before I can speak, Eddie answers for me.
