Chapter 9
It was a Friday, weeks after classes started, in early November. I laid there in my bed, eyes shut and breathing heavily. I was tired, stressed, and overwhelmed. I needed a break, something to loosen me up. I need a distraction. After the first week, homework started to kick in. Projects and assignments being thrown at you at every opportunity. The only class that I actually get to have fun is in art. I talk to Aiden once in a while, but I have too much on my hands that I don't have time to go out with friends. Autumn was right. I am so close in pulling my hair out. I sighed.
"Too much homework" I groaned.
"Tell me about it. We barely go out anymore" Julie said from her bed. "We have no time" I turned my head towards her. "I'm hungry, let's go to the cafeteria" Before she gave me her answer, I grabbed her hand and dragged her with me towards the cafeteria. We were both in sweatpants and oversized t-shirts. Mine had 'I love food more than you' written on it, and Julie's had Mickey Mouse on it.
"What should I get?" I asked.
"I don't know. You brought me here, you should know what to eat" she shrugged.
"Should I get a sandwich, a hamburger, or a slice of pizza? Not just a slice, maybe two or three" I rambled.
"Get a sandwich" Julie said.
"But the hamburger tastes better than the sandwich" I whined.
"Then get the hamburger" I shook my head.
"I'm not feeling a hamburger today"
"Then get the freaking slices of pizza!" Julie shouted.
"Calm down woman. No need to yell. Are you going to get anything?" I asked. She shook her head.
"I'm good"
"Okay then, can I have three slices of pizza with an Arizona please?"
"What flavor?" the lady asked.
"Kiwi strawberry" After paying for my food, we sat down.
"You want some?" I said as I pushed my Arizona towards her. Julie gladly accepted it and opened it, taking a drink.
"That is good" Julie said, wiping her mouth.
"Tell me about it. Arizona is love, Arizona is life" I said.
"You know, we should do something this weekend" she said. "I'm tired of staying in the same place for weeks now"
"I know. It doesn't really matter where we go, just away from here for a while" I nodded, starting to eat my second slice.
"Is there any good movies out right now?" I asked.
"Nope" she said popping the 'p'. That's when my light bulb lit up.
"We should watch our movies, and do something after" I said.
"Oh! Yaaaaassss!" Julie yelled. People looked at us weirdly.
"What am I going to do with you?" I groaned putting my hands in my face. Julie can be quite embarrassing.
"Nothing. You're just going to watch movies with me" she grabbed my hand and started dragging me back to my dorm.
"Wait!" she stopped as I went back to the table to get my last piece of pizza and my Arizona. I gave her my hand.
"You can continue"
"Movies!" she squealed like a little kid.
"Mind if we join?" We both turned around. Julie stood there while I was eating my pizza, sauce all over my face.
