'Holy bears!' Nita screamed as she stumbled a few feet back. She quickly turned around, but Leon and Maia were nowhere to be seen.
'I gotta do this myself,' Nita murmured as she ran towards Bruce. The bear-dog was still digging at the ground, not noticing the gigantic robot.
'Bruce! Retu-' Nita stopped halfway. If Maia was watching, she would see Nita transform a giant bear-dog into a ball of light. And that will definitely blow her cover.
Nita immediately began running for the ocean, ignoring the fear that built up in her soul.
'Jessie! Brock! Mortis!' Nita shouted as she ran to the shore. She saw Jessie lying on the wet sand, drenched. Brock and Mortis were nearby. They were slowly recovering from their shock.
'Nita!' Brock shouted back, his voice full of fear and surprise. 'What are you doing? That robot's gonna kill us!'
'That's exactly why I'm here!' Nita hollered as she pulled Jessie out of the shallow water. 'Let's get outta here!'
The brawlers dashed towards the street. Leon, who suddenly reappeared, exchanged glances with Nita and helped to bring Jessie into a nearby building. Brock and Mortis followed them in.
'Bruce!' Nita yelled as she charged back onto the street. She still didn't decide to transform him yet- the feeling of someone watching her pierced through her spine.
Bruce was still digging away at the ground. He didn't hear Nita's screams at all. He also didn't notice the giant robot foot that was coming down on him.
'NO!!!' Nita cried, but it was too late. Robo Spike's giant foot stomped down on the ground, kicking up dust in the process.
Nita held her arms in front of her face to shield the incoming dust. She started to cry a fake cry, mainly because she didn't want Maia or any other mortals to know that she can just magically summon Bruce again.
But instead of seeing Bruce's ashes, Nita saw a blue, robot figure that was carrying Bruce.
'Hey kid, is this your Shiba dog?' The figure asked with a weird, robotic voice.
Nita could barely believe her eyes. 'Yes, this's my dog Bruce.' Her answer was nothing more than a whisper.
The blue robot thrown Bruce into Nita's grasp. Nita immediately gave Bruce a bear hug.
'You better watch out, kid,' The figure advised. 'If not, you or your dog will be sleepin' with the fishes!'
As the person in the blue mecha suit flew away, Nita didn't notice neither the familiar line nor the shocked expressions on Brock, Mortis, Leon and Maia's faces.
'Bruce! I told you not to continue digging!' Nita hollered as she broke the bear hug and dragged Bruce away from the giant robot. 'You could've get killed!'
Bruce whined a soft whine before crouching at the entrance of the building.
Meanwhile, back on the street, Robo Spike, who was now gigantic, was trying to destroy Crow. The toxic assassin flew around the robot, confusing it.
'Time for you to shut down!' Crow shouted as he threw his new and special daggers into Robo Spike's eye. The daggers bounced around inside the humongous yet surprisingly hollow robot, shocking it with electrical pulses.
Robo Spike stumbled backwards and crashed into an empty building. It growled a silent growl.
'Don't worry, my friend,' The dark spirit's voice ran through Robo Spike's mind. 'Use your new Needle Grenades and see what happens.'
Robo Spike followed the spirit's command. It opened its hand and summoned a gigantic, metal spike ball. Then, it flung its arm backwards, ready to hurl the ball.
'On no you don't!' Crow shouted as he flew up close to the robot. He threw his Switchblades accurately, destroying the gigantic ball. Metal spikes started to fly into the sky.
'You fool! Move faster!' The spirit shouted at Robo Spike.
Robo Spike made a silent cringe as it summoned more Needle Grenades and hurled them all over the place. The metal balls exploded mid air and the metal spikes flew threw the air, crashing into buildings.
One of the spikes crashed right into the building were Nita and the others were.
'We gotta evacuate everyone from this building!' Leon shouted as broken glass from windows rained down on the street.
The brawlers and Maia raced through the building, helping any person in sight. No one questioned about Nita's white eyes- they were all dying to get out of the building.
'That's all of 'em!' Brock shouted as he helped a woman out of the building.
'Right on time!' Nita shouted in fear as Robo Spike's giant arm crashed into the building. The dust floated through the wind, creating massive dust clouds that blocked many people's vision.
Jessie, who already woken up from her blackout, was carrying her shock rifle. 'Nita! Please explain everything to Maia!'
Nita immediately turned around. Maia's face was whiter than a ghost's.
'C'mon,' Nita sighed as she towed Maia into a dark alley, far away from the robot. 'I'll tell you the main reason why my friends and I can survive that deadly battle on Saturday.'
Back on the street, mortals were running for cover, screaming at the top of their lungs. Crow was trying his best to stop Robo Spike, but the giant robot was close to indestructible.
'You cock-croach!' Crow cursed as he flung more daggers into Robo Spike's eye.
Robo Spike was enraged. It created a new and special metal ball and threw it towards Crow.
The ball cracked open and turned into a ring of metal spikes.
'Up!' Crow shouted as he flew threw the crevices of the ring, avoiding every single spike. 'Ca- CAW!!!
Crow used Swoop and dived onto the top of Robo Spike, denting the robot's hatch.
Jessie, Brock, Leon and Mortis were a few feet away from the robot.
'No point in hiding our identities now,' Leon growled as he took out four spinner blades. 'Time to brawl.'
The four of them charged towards Robo Spike, their weapons ready in their hands.
'And Shelly, Penny, Colt and Bibi are all brawlers as well,' Nita shouted, her hands itching to send a shockwave towards Robo Spike. 'We have a passion to fight, and we are stronger than normal mortals. And that robot really makes me want to brawl!'
Maia was stunned. She quickly recovered from her shock. 'So now you should probably go and destroy that robot,' Maia concluded.
'Yup. We Brawlers are a magnet for danger, and that robot is a danger alright,' Nita replied. 'Stay safe, Maia. I don't want anyone to die.'
With that, Nita charged back onto the street, her pendant glowing brightly with energy.
