'Argh...' Nita murmured as she got up. She thought that she was definitely in the realm of the dead. She can't see a thing.
'Nita! You're finally awake!' Leon's voice came out of nowhere.
Nita immediately jumped. 'What on earth?! Leon?! How in the world?!' She shouted. 'Am I not dead?!'
'What're you thinking about, sis?' Leon asked. 'You're alive and breathing, and you're now back in Brawl Town!'
Nita rubbed her eyes. She suddenly noticed that her eyes were just unclear because of some weird smoke. She instantly took in everything: her bed, her desk, her room.
'How did I survive?' Nita wondered out loud as she got off her bed. Leon immediately tackle-hugged her.
'Gah! Leon, get off me!' Nita shouted as she kicked her brother in the ribs again.
Leon stumbled backwards, but he didn't howl in pain. 'You teleported back here,' Leon replied. 'The smoke sent you back here while you were falling through the air.'
  'How did you-'
'You were sleep-talking,' Leon quickly answered Nita's unfinished question.
Nita calmed down for a while, but she immediately became worried again. 'What about Maia? And Cyria? And Mutaka and Oceanta?' She hollered.
'Whoa! Cyria attacked you again?!' Leon shouted back, surprised. 'I think Bo knows who's Mutaka and Oceanta. But Cyria? What a surprise!'
'Most importantly, WHAT IN THE NAME OF GOD HAPPENED TO MAIA???!!!' Nita howled. 'When Cyria and the other two attacked me, I sent Bruce to get Maia away from the battle zone. Now that I'm back here, and there's no one to stop those three......'
Nita immediately sprinted towards Town Hall, Leon following her hastily. She was running so fast, Leon swore that even with Smoke Trails, he won't be able to beat her!
'Maia Sitar, age: 8, gender: girl, location: Tiaro City, Scitia,' Nita quickly murmured as she typed the info into the screen's search engine. She also noticed that it was the 7th of August, which was a day after the event.
'Nita! You know that the screen wasn't made for stuff like this!' Leon hollered, but Nita didn't care.
Suddenly, a news pop up appeared on the screen. Nita immediately tapped it.
'This must have something to do with Maia,' Nita mumbled quietly.
  The article wrote:

SCHOOL DESTROYED, ONLY A FEW PEOPLE SURVIVE
On the 6th of August, 2019 (Wednesday), a school called Sidawa Academy, which
was located in Tiaro City, Scitia, had collapsed. The school walls cracked and the entire
building turned into rubble in a matter of seconds. Many people didn't manage to escape
the fatal accident.
The few people who survived were Mark Jonsan, 30, Wayne Sird, 34, and Tila Cyria, 29.
Some other students of the school survived as well. One of the most interesting survivors
was Maia Sitar, 8. She was seen on the back of an oversized Shiba dog that came running out
of the building. Her face was very pale, and when people asked her what had happened,
her only reply was 'Nita Samura sacrificed herself to save me. If only I was faster and stronger.
If only I could save myself. Nita's death is all my fault!'
Nita Samura was said to be one of the many students of Sidawa Academy, but she
had mysteriously disappeared. Rescuers try to save as many people as possible, but
everyone was yet to find little Samura.

The article continued on after that, but Nita immediately closed the news. Her white eyes were suddenly filled with guilt.
'Maia thinks that I am dead,' Nita cried. 'And she thinks that it's her fault! What am I supposed to do?'
Nita didn't notice the bandaged woman who appeared behind her.
'I know what you should do,' Tara spoke up with her ghastly voice. Nita jumped into the air and almost crashed her head onto the ceiling. Leon did the exact same thing.
'Tara! Why in the name of God do you always do that?!' Nita and Leon shouted in unison, and Tara laughed half-heartedly.
The mystic's eye on her forehead turned serious again.
'There's a special, magical bond two people can make with each other. Most people call this the Empathy Link. You'll be able to feel the feelings of those who you're connected to, and you can also talk to each other, no matter how far away the two people are. I know how to create this bond between others. But of course, there's a downside.'
Nita was awestruck. But she was confused. 'What's the downside?'
'Well, if one of you die, then the other will die along with that person.'
'WHAT???!!!' Nita hollered. 'Okay. Sorry, Tara, but I ain't gonna have the Empathy Link with Maia. I mean, not everyone can die 24/7 and resurrect the next day.'
Tara snickered under her breath as she disappeared into the shadows.
'You really think she was telling the truth?' Leon asked Nita.
Nita shook her head. 'I'm not sure, but I'm not going to risk Maia's life. I'll just send her letters or something like that.'
A week later, Nita received a reply letter that came from the Mortal Realm.
'Yes! It worked!!!' Nita shouted happily. She no longer had to worry about her mortal friend.
Leon eyed Nita suspiciously. 'You seem to entrust Maia with everything about us.'
'Maia is special. She isn't a Brawler, but she isn't completely a normal mortal. She's something in between, and we shouldn't exclude her for being like that,' Nita announced.
The following day, Nita saw the already back to normal Robo Spike and the uncontrolled Robo Mike. Both robots looked lifeless as they stood in front of Barley's saloon. Nita started to recall the battle she and the others have had with these robots.
'Nita! Stop staring at the robots!' Leon shouted at his sister. 'You haven't even prepared a single bit for the event!'
'Event? What event?!' Nita asked, confused.
'Don't you remember? The costume party that was originally planned for the end of July? It was postponed to the end of August after that event throughout the summer!'
Nita jumped into the air. 'Oh, BEARS!!!' She shouted. 'I forgotten all about it!'
'Well, you better go and prepare that fan made skin! Or else you'll totally miss out!'
Nita sprinted back to her house after grabbing a drink from the saloon. She started to choose the best skin for the party.
By the time that day ended with a game of Gem Grab in Retropolis, it was safe to say that the brawlers' crazy summer adventure in the city was finally over.

There's always some author notes to read.
Oh and for the Empathy Link thing it was a Percy Jackson reference. (I mean, if I keep doing it unintentionally, I guess I'll just do it on purpose)
