*Zoya's POV*
"Aargh, he's annoying," I said, rubbing my temple.
"Who's annoying?" Hammaad asked, entering the dining area.
"Bro! I need your help!" Lia said, running to him with her phone.
"Ham, it will piss you when you hear the story," I said, arranging the table.
"Haha Zo. Don't tell me it's Zayan," He said, grabbing a cupcake from the stand.
"You guessed it right," I said, leaving the dining area.
*Lia's POV*:
"Ham bro!" I said, handing over my phone to him.
"Go ahead," He said, enjoying the mini cupcake.
"Remember our neighbor, my friend Zara?" I asked, taking a seat beside him.
"Uh... I hate her stupid brother," He muttered, eyeing at me.
"I don't know whether you know this story. But I've to tell you this," I said, heaving a sigh.
"I'm sure it's something to do with her stupid brother," he said, furrowing his brows.
"Listen Hammaad bro, listen!" I said with a pleading face.
"You know, when we were at our previous house, there was a girl of my age, Zara. We stuck together for the past two years since we were of the same age. I used to visit her almost every day and you know, we were good friends. I was unaware of her brother Zayan until he asked for my hand in marriage," I said, playing with my fingers.
"Trust me, if he's the bridegroom you will not see me at your wedding! And I swear. I've always warned you not to go there. And that Zayan... I hate his face the first day I saw him. He didn't look like a good person to me. I didn't like him at all," He said, narrowing his eyes at me.
"I'm sorry, but I considered him as my broth-"
"You cannot consider all boys on earth as your brother. You've one already," He said, smacking my head.
"I know I shouldn't have done it. Anyway, listen! I'm having a mini heart attack already," I said, begging.
"Hmmmm," he said, not uttering a word.
"So... my father wasn't okay with this because I had to complete my studies and I was too young. But he had an idea to postpone the wedding as soon as I was done with studies. And that's when he asked his friends about this guy Zayan. They gave critical reviews about him. They said that he's a guy who is engaged in all the bad habits and has a terrible character." I said, almost with a shaky voice.
"What?" Hammaad screamed his lungs off and before he could complete the rest of his sentence, Zo's mother-in-law entered the dining room with my mother. I smiled at her and headed upstairs, pulling Hammaad with me.
