Vivian
I feel tears roll down my face mixing in with the blood that is splattered all over my face as I exit the building. I hear people behind me shouting, but all of it is unintelligible. I let the bloody tears stream down my face as I continue to run blindly through the forest not caring where I’m going. I feel guilt take over as I hit the edge of the forest.

I stop a good distance away and hide behind a tree in case I was followed. After a minute of silence, I break down completely letting all my emotions flow out. I realize I am still wearing the blood-stained guard outfit and start tearing it off my body. I stand in my black outfit trying to wipe the blood off my hands on the discarded disguise.

I continue walking, wiping tears away every once and a while only to have them reappear when I see the blood still coating my skin. I make my way toward where I think camp is as a complete mess stumbling from fatigue and lack of sight through the tears. I fall to my knees realizing I am lost and all alone.

I whimper a little until I hear that sweet voice I love so much. "Vivian is that you?" I hear her ask. I shut my eyes tight, nodding my head slowly while taking a fist full of my black jeans into both of my hands. She walks over to me before sitting down with her legs folded under her. "What's wrong?" She asks gently, moving some of my hair behind my ear.

"I… I killed them," I say through tears. "I was cornered and had no way to escape. I killed them, Scarlett. I killed them." I lose my composer and sob uncontrollably as she pulls me into her grasp. "Shh, " she whispers, "it's okay. You're okay." She continues holding me and whispering sweet nothings in my ear until I am just sniffling.

"Come on, we should head back to camp." She gets up, holding out her hand for me to take. She pulls me to my feet, but I lose my balance and fall on her blushing at my clumsiness. Scarlett chuckles at me before grabbing my hand and showing me the way back to camp.

Scarlett
We make our way toward camp. We are off the path a good distance making it difficult to get back. I pull Vivian closer to me. My right arm holds her up as we walk. I stop and sit her up against a rock while taking my backpack off to help her clean up.

I pull out some water and a cloth. I carefully pour the water on the cloth and gently start cleaning her face. She cries softly trying not to bring any unwanted attention to us. I feel my heartbreak at the sight, but I feel it shatter completely when I hear her whimper when I start cleaning a cut on one of her hands.

I say sweet nothings to her as I continue cleaning her wound and dress it. As soon as I finish cleaning off most of the blood I pull her into my embrace. She welcomes it as her cries start picking up again. I pet her hair planting soft kisses to help her calm down.

Once she settles down a bit I pack everything up before setting off again with Vivian and my backpack in tow. I take in my surroundings noticing how late it is. At least we are pretty close to camp now. I wish we could camp here for a few days, but as soon as we get back we have to leave for the closest town to restock our supplies and to put our next move into play.

The next day
We reach the nearest town around noon finding it in an eerily quiet state with no one in sight. I instruct Mike to stay with everyone in the forest while I figure out what is going on. I make my way down the dirt road noting that it must be one of the towns kept strictly for those who work at the containment facilities and their families. Those roads are usually kept blocked off and unpaved so they are less desirable for outsiders.

I see a shop's door that is propped open and make my way inside. I walk in noticing that this must be a supply shop that the Superiours keep stocked for the town folk. I find a few needed supplies and make my way to the old wooden counter toward the back of the store. I take in how the place has an old western feel to it. I realize the whole town gives off the same feeling before gently tapping the silver bell on the counter.

A lady appears from the back not long after smiling at me. She is a bit old, but still young enough to run this place that much I can tell. "Hi, sweetie. " she greets with a smile which I return. "What brings you here?" She asks while ringing up the few items I picked out.

"I am just passing through," I answer. "I've got to ask, but where is everyone. This place looks deserted." The lady sighs before turning on a TV behind the counter. The tv glitches with static until I can see Vivian in the familiar hallway of the containment facility. She flips the blades out of her pocket knives smiling a twisted smile.

The guards charge her while pulling out their weapons. I bite my lip having an idea of what is about to happen. She stabs the first guard in the side of the neck and slides the blade down the length of it. One swift motion and the same knife slips out of the guard's neck into another's hand. Screams erupt from him but soon become unintelligible when Vivian slits his neck with the other knife causing blood to fill his throat.

Two guards down as she continues her rampage aiming for the neck or face since everyone was wearing a vest thick enough a knife would not pass through. She only misses when someone puts their arms up to block her or when she gets pushed by someone. The vest on her does its job of keeping the bullets that hit her from breaking skin while the ones that miss her either miss because of all her movement or end up in someone else.

She is covered in blood with the bodies around her piling up. Some are still alive holding their wounds trying desperately to stay alive while others lay limp and lifeless on the floor. She starts making her way toward the exit as the mob of people starts to clear up. Her blades are soaked dripping blood with every movement. The only wound on her being a cut on her left hand which is only noticeable by the blood pouring out of it.

She sees the exit at the end of the hallway all she has to do is pass an intersection of hallways and she is free. Just as she is about to pass the intersection someone slams into her shoulder knocking her into a nearby wall.

She grunts out of pain and shock as they pin her there. One of her arms is stuck between her and the wall while the other is being held by the person pinning her. She struggles against her assailant fighting desperately to get free. I can tell she's frustrated from the look on her face from times of sparring with her.

Vivian finally finds enough strength to push the person off of her and throws them to the floor as she runs toward the exit. She rams into the door pushing it open as she runs away not slowing down for nothing. Once she leaves through the door the lady shuts off the television before turning back to me.
