Vivian
I opened my eyes to see a girl who was probably at the party last night finishing up cleaning the floor before sighing and looking at me.

"Good, you're awake. Before I explain anything I would like to introduce myself. My name is Scarlett, and I saved you from getting raped last night.” she says before smiling waiting intently for me to introduce myself as well; however, I am still stuck on the “saving me from getting raped” part because up until then I had forgotten about all of last night. I shook the returning memories away knowing now isn’t the time to deal with them.

"My name is Vivian. The party last night was thrown in my honor because I will be taken into custody as a killer by the end of the week.” I expected her smile to drop or for her to back away from me, but she just went on to explain everything she did that involved saving me. She talked with a serious tone, but I could hear the excitement in her voice when she told me about the fight.

"What did you do with the body?" I question knowing I probably don't want to know. "That doesn't matter, what matters is that you're safe and I got to have my fun without even feeling guilty about it." Yep, she's no doubt a killer. "How come our Superiors don't have you locked up like the other blood killers?" She let out a sigh before answering my question. "I ran away from home as soon as I got the news that I was a killer."

"Oh. Why did you run?" "I wasn't going to let them take me in because my blood said I was a murder when I never even picked up a gun. That was a year ago. Now I kill however I want when I want and they haven't even found the first body yet." She let out a chuckle at the last part. "Where are you heading next?" "Don't know. Want to join me on my journey though?"

"That doesn't seem like a good idea since you kill for fun," Scarlett smirked. "You're smarter than you look, but you don't have to worry about that considering I'm trying to find more of these so-called blood killers or whatever to help me with an uprising."

"Why an uprising?" "I don't like how our kind is treated. Even though they are right about me it doesn't mean they are right about you. If you haven't done anything wrong, then what's the point of letting your life waste away in a prison." I have to admit she does have a point. "Okay, I'll help you." "Good. We need more people so we have to make stops on the way to where our Superiors are." "Sounds good to me. Do you think we could bring my family along with us?" Scarlett let out a sigh. "We'll see."

A few hours ago mom got back from her business trip. That's when I had decided to ask her and Lucy to join Scarlett and me. At first, they didn't want to leave, but after I explained that we could continue being a family if we left together they agreed.

That was over an hour ago now we're in the middle of packing all of our camping gear and some food to take with us. Scarlett and mom's backpacks both have a tent, a sleeping bag, and a water canteen on the side. Lucy has a sleeping bag, clothes for all of us, a first aid kit, and a canteen of her own. Mine has mainly food, a sleeping bag. and my canteen.

Once we finish packing we head for the woods which are about a block from our house. We start our journey around the middle of the day and don't set up camp until the sun starts setting. Scarlett told us earlier that we need to get weapons from somewhere or learn how to use what's around us as weapons. We need to have some way of defending ourselves if something were to happen so we agree to learn to use stuff around us.

After setting the tents up we agree on Lucy and mom sharing a tent while Scarlett and I share her tent. I lay in my tent for a while unable to sleep so I decided to go for a walk to hopefully make me tired enough to go to sleep. I wander around for a while before I stumble upon a river. I stop to fill up my canteen, which I brought with me in case I got lost when I hear a twig snap behind me.

I turn around only to come face to face with Scarlett. "You scared the living daylights out of me," I say in a startled tone. She shrugs her shoulders before saying whoops in a way that told you that she didn't care. "Did you follow me?" She sat down on a large rock nearby before answering, "Yea, can't leave you alone for a wolf to eat you."

I roll my eyes. "I can take care of myself." "What happened yesterday says otherwise." I blush knowing that she has a point. "Don't worry about it though I'll teach you and your family everything you'll need to know to survive."

"How do you know how to fight?" I question. "My dad taught me how to fight and how to fight dirty when I was young because I was his only child. After mom died he became paranoid, who would have thought it'd come in handy one day." "I'm sorry." Scarlett turns her gaze toward the stars before replying with the past is the past response.

After an hour of talking about different things, we decide to head back to camp. We arrive back at where we left two tents set up. One empty except for our sleeping bags and backpacks while the other has my mom and sister sleeping in the other with what they had carried on their backs earlier with them.

We head into our tent and lay down after making sure no animals had snuck in. Once I lay down in my sleeping bag I feel sleep take over me almost instantly. I fall asleep with thoughts of what tomorrow will be like in my head.
