HARRY'S POV

"I'm sorry boys, but I'm afraid you're going home." Tears were streaming down my face. My heart was shattered into a million pieces. All of my hopes and dreams were crushed. Then, I thought of someone. And everything got 10 times worse.

Clarie.

She was going to be so disappointed in me. What if she never talks to me again? What if she thinks I'm a failure? Well, I wouldn't be surprised. I think I'm a failure. My life is basically over.

I looked around at all of the other boys that didn't make it through to the next round. There were only a handful of people that I reckognized. The only thing we probably had in common was this pain.

"You can go now." Simon Cowell looked at us with sympathetic eyes. He genuinely looked sorry for us. At least he has a heart.

We all filed off the stage. Everywhere I looked, people were crying. There was one boy in particular, a blonde lad from Ireland, I believe. He looked absolutely crushed. I just wanted to cheer him up. A camera crew was trying to talk to him, but he was crying too hard to get very much out. Poor kid.

I thought of Claire again, and got my phone out to call her. She needed to know. I needed to know how she would react. I hope she won't be disappointed in me.

Ring. Ring. Ring.

"Hello? Harry? How'd it go?"

"Claire." I was whispering, in the hopes that it would be easier for her to hear.

"Ha-harry?" She was already getting upset, and all I did was say her name. She could tell something was wrong, for real this time.

"Clarie, I, I didn't make it." My voice cracked on the last word, and I started sobbing.

"Oh, Harry, it's okay. Hey, everything's gonna be alright. You'll see. Everything's gonna work out in the end."

"How do you know? My life is over! Singing is the only thing I want to do in life. And now I can't even do that. Do you know how that feels?!"

"Yes." She mumbled so softly that I almost didn't hear her.

"What did you say?"

"Oh, erm, nothing. But trust me, Harry. Things are going to start picking up. Just wait and see." A stage worker came backstage to where all of the people that already got turned away were being held.

"Okay, the following people need to follow me. The judges want to see you back on stage. Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik, come with me."

"Harry? What's going on? What's happening?"

"Hey, Claire, I have to go. I'll call you back as soon as I know what's going on."

"Har-" I hung up on her absent-mindedly as I followed the worker. I hope she won't be mad at me for that. We walked back onto the stage. There were also 5 girls that were brought back up, besides us boys.

"We've thought about it, and frankly, we think you are all just too good to let go of." What? I don't understand.

"We've made a decision. We want a new boy group and a new girl group in the competition. Do you think you could work together?" I looked at the other lads and nodded my head furiously. They all mirrored my actions.

"Well, then, congratulations. You're all through to Judges' Houses!" We all jumped into a massive dog pile while screaming. Simon and the other judges were just chuckling as they watched our reactions. Claire was right. Things are picking up.
