Have you ever had to chase down a 3-year-old? No, well, it is exhausting. I thought that we had gotten over the terrible, terrible twos, but no. Aria has decided that she is going to be a holy terror. Elijah had to go and meet with our accountant and deal with some business stuff and I have no appointments today. I continue chasing my daughter around with her dress in my hand.

"Aria Mackenzie Reed," I say firmly. She stops in her tracks and turns and looks at me.

"If you let me put this dress on, we can go see Aunt Murphy."

"Otay, Mommy." She bounces over to me and lets me get her dressed. Oh dear god, please let it get better from here.

"Thank you, Mrs. Stevens, have a nice evening," one of the parents says to me as they start to walk away holding their 5-year-old. I look around and see that all my kids had been picked up and I head inside. I pack up my bag and I head out.

The past two years have been a whirlwind. No, we haven't had a kid, but that's okay. We have been okay with being the cool aunt and uncle. We love our niece and nephews. Gavin and Ashton, Kate and Toby's boys, are in first grade and Aria, well, is a little devil. Kate and Toby have another baby that is due sometime this month. They wanted the gender to be a surprise and they have confirmed that it is only one baby. We are just waiting on the call.

As for our fertility issues, Dr. Santos says that we just have to give it more time especially with my underlying issue. If we don't conceive in the next couple of months, we are going to start considering some treatment options or even looking at adoption.

Don't get me wrong, dealing with all these fertility issues stresses us out, but we just take it one day at a time. We just have to have hope and we do. For now, we are okay with just being there for our family.

I pull up at the precinct and walk inside. The woman at the front desk hands me a visitor pass and lets me through. I walk back towards the detective's desks and I see Mark at work typing out something on his computer. I wave to his boss and then I stand in front of his desk and wait for him to notice. He looks up from his laptop and sees me standing there.
