I walk into the Mercedes garage with Lewis hand-in-hand. We have been dating for a year and it's going better than ever. We are currently in England for his home Grand Prix. He is one of my favourite people in the world and I'm so proud of him for what he has achieved. I met him when I came to watch his first race because I'm friends with his friends and they invited me and I don't regret saying yes. After a month he asked me to be his, although it felt too fast but I couldn't say no to that handsome face.
"I'm quickly going to the bathroom," I said smiling at him and he gives me a kiss on the cheek. I go to the bathroom and do my bizz. After, I looked at myself in the mirror. I got a Mercedes hat and t-shirt on with shorts and my converse shoes. Of all the girls, he chose me. I smile at myself and went back knowing he will be in his hospitality room in the garage.
I was about to open the door when I heard Lewis' voice ,"I'm not going to break up with her. I know I made a bet and it was all fun and games but I actually like her now."
"Then I won't give you the money and I'll tell her. I regret making the bet, because Y/n doesn't deserve it."
"I know," Is all Lewis said.
"I have to go. Goodluck with your race bro." I was Jason. I was so shocked, when the door opened I didn't even move. Jason looked me in the and then his eyes widened. "Hey, Y/n. Did you -?"
"Yes," I said not wanting to say more.
"I'm sorry." With that he left.
"Aren't I good enough for you to let you ask me on your own for me to be your girlfriend?" I asked walking in and closed the door behind me. I couldn't look him in the eye, knowing that I wasted a year with a guy who was only with me because of a bet. I feel so embarrassed.
"What are you talking about, love?" he asked laughing and coming closer.
"Is it fun to play with a girl's heart like that? Is this a game for you? I heard what you said to Jason." Lewis' smiled dropped immediately.
"Just listen to me first ,please." he said trying to touch my hand but I pulled my hand away.
"No, I won't listen and don't even think to touch me."
"I don't want to fight with you. Yes, it was a bet but things changed. I actually start to like you."
"Did you see someone else while we dated?" I asked crossing my arms. He looks down giving me my answer."
"Listen, Lewis, I'm not a toy you can play with. Now I know why you never said you loved me or you didn't hold me infront of all the models you see every weekend at a race. You only invited me to this race and the race in Australia, I had to ask you to take me with to go and support you and I can't believe I actually liked you... wait... I even loved you. Why would someone like you go for someone like me ,a loser? I know I'm not a model or have a lot of money like you but it doesn't mean you have to play with my feelings. I think we should break up. You can go get your money, not that you really need it. It's over." I said letting my tears fall.
Stop being so emotional. "I'm going to go." I add and taking of the hat with 44 on it and give it to him. "I'll give you the shirt when you come back."
"No no no. Wait Y/n, please give me a chance. I stopped seeing her because I was busy falling for you. I don't want the money, I want you. Why do you think I stayed? The bet was only for 2 months but I stayed for a year because I want to. I only saw that girl for the first month because I thought it will be easy to break up with you but no, I fell inlove with. Yes ,I love you You make it so easy to love you. It's hard to love you and keep you away, the moment I realized I love you, I called Jason and told him that it's not a bet for me anymore."
"Why didn't you invite me to one of your races? Be honest," I said finally looking at him.
"You have to be at the university. I know how much it means to you to get good grades and a good job. I'm really sorry how this turned out. I don't want to lose you. Please believe me when I say I love you." He takes my hand in his.
I really don't know what to say. Of course, he stayed because he actually loves me and I was blind to see it. I was wrong to make a bet but he actually fell for me. He gives me a hug and a long kiss.
"Let's go. I'm supposed to meet Toto on the track." We walk out of the room and on our way to Toto.
"Lewis, I was wondering if I can get your number?" A grid girl asked Lewis, appearing out of nowhere.
"Can't you see my girlfriend is standing next to me?" He said still trying to be nice. She said sorry and left.
What a stupid bet which turned into love.
