"This is your last warning Mona!" My dad yelled and I just threw the door shut. Why does he always do it? So what, I snuck out to go party with my friends. Big deal!

"What did your dad say?" My friend, Caroline ask me through the phone.

"'This is your last warning, Mona!'" I mimic my dad. "He always threatens to send me to Australia where my grandma lives.

"Why?"

"To let me help on the farm." I roll my eyes.

"Ewww! That's disgusting. Oh well, party at Jason's tonight. Want to go?" I look at my door and I smile.

"Duh," I say and go to my closet.

"I'll pick you up in 30 minutes. I heard that David might be there, he so wants to do it with you." I laugh and she hangs up. I take out my shortest black dress which also shows a lot of cleavage. My dad will kill me if he saw me in this dress.

I lock my door and put my speaker on like I always do. I open my balcony door and walk a little forward and see Caroline's car parked near my house where my dad can't see her car.

I go back in to grab my purse and the keys of the balcony door. I lock the door and climb down to the ground. Why did I choose the top floor's room?

I jog over to her car and get in quickly. "Ready to party?"

"Yaaaaaaas!" I plug the auxiliary cord into my phone and the music starts to blast through the speakers.

We arrive at Jason's house and there are already a lot of people passed out on the grass. I climb out and fix my dress and walk over to the house. "Are you going to do it?" Caroline asks me and I shrug.

"I don't really know." The truth is that I've never done it before but I lied to my friends because you are considered lame if you haven't done it before. To save my reputation, I told them that I had sex with some boy in summer camp last year.

I'm 18 and is it that bad to wait for the one. David comes over and grabs me from behind and pulls me into him.

We have been dating for 4 months but I don't think he is the one for me at all. He cares more about baseball than about me. Sometimes I think the only reason he asked me out was that we are both popular.

"How is my lovely girl doing?"

"I'm good." I turn around and he pulls me even closer.

"Let's go upstairs," he whispers in my ear. I smell the alcohol in his breath. Before I can say something, he drags me to one of the guest rooms upstairs. We enter and he immediately locks the door.

"I don't want to do it with you," I say pushing him off of me.

"Well, sweetheart, you don't have a choice, okay? Caroline said yes last week." He pushes his whole body on me, forcing me against the wall.

"I said no!" I kick him where the sun doesn't shine. He groans and bent down, holding his crotch. I unlock the door and quickly run out.

I run down the stairs and out of the house. I run and run to get away from that bastard. My house is only a 15-minute walk away.

I stop to catch my breath and look behind me to see if he's behind me. Thank goodness not.

I arrive at my house and without thinking I go through the front door instead of my balcony door. My head is so caught on what just happened.

I shut the door and a tear slip from my eye. "Mona? Is that you?" I hear my father's voice coming from the kitchen. He comes into view and his face drops.

"Where on earth were you? I told you that you only had one more warning left and you blew it. You are going to your grandma and that is final." He turns around and I don't even protest.

I want to get as far as possible away from here. All of these people and their judgments. I walk to my room and start packing. I want to leave and I want to leave now!

I wake up to the sound of my phone ringing. I look at the caller ID, it's Caroline. She slept with David while we dated. That's really low.

"Mona!" My dad calls me from downstairs. Probably because breakfast is ready. I dress in a cute summer dress and some sandals.

"Goodmorning, papa." I take a seat and look at the bacon and eggs in front of me. Yummy.

"Morning, sweetie." He takes a bite of his food.

"When are you flying me off to Australia?" My dad drops his fork and looks at me.

"Did you hit your head somewhere?" He starts laughing.

"No. I have bad friends. Sorry, HAD bad friends. I want to go to grandma's to get my roots back. I was basically born on the farm. I miss grandma."

"Glad your friends messed up or else this would've been much harder. When do you want to leave?"

"Oh, I already packed." I take a sip of my apple juice.

"I will book you a flight tomorrow morning. Grandma will be delighted to have you back on the farm. And you never know, maybe you'll meet a cowboy there and settle down there."

"Easy there, dad."

"Why did you cry last night?" I look up and see he's really curious about what actually happened.

"Umm, Caroline said some mean stuff."

"I never liked her anyway." My dad says sassily. "I've missed this, you barely sit and eat here. You normally take it to your room."

"I thought about a lot of things last night."

"It sounds like you needed it." I nod and take my last bite.

"Thanks for breakfast."

"I'm going to miss you, sweetie. Remember to be safe. Grandma will pick you up at the airport."

"Okay, Love you dad, and thank you again for everything." I give him a big hug and a kiss on the cheek.

We pull away and walk to the check-in. Luckily my dad bought me a first-class ticket because Australia is far from Italy if you ask me.

Dad moved to Italy when mom died. I was about 11. My dad got a great job and now he is the CEO of a technology company. He has been very strict because he wants me to achieve success. I rebelled against him, mostly because I missed my mom and the other part is that I got the worst friends you can I ask for. I'm nothing like them, I only act like that to impress everyone and it's clearly working except for my dad.

I'm a good girl, I still get good grades and I care about people unlike them. I'm innocent and I am most certainly made for the countryside. I would've turned out differently if we stayed in Australia.

I decided yesterday that if I come back, I'm going to be a different person, the real me. I need this time out.
