Aurelia's hands began to crumple the paper with anger as she read the last bit of information, and raised her voice for the entire group to hear, "The odds go in regular increments until they get to us. Why are we so unfavored?"
Conner answered, "Well shit, red, look at the fucking names if nothing else. The rest of these guys literally command power with their titles alone."
Aurelia nodded in agreement. "Yes, some sound old, elemental. Others command magic and abilities unfathomable to us." Her finger tapped the parchment beside the home-world team's names, "Judging by the types of 'kings' they selected, I think it appropriate to assume they mean to control the world we will do battle in. A sound strategy; we would be wise to stay wary of team 3."
She folded the paper and stuck it in her pocket, turning to address the group. "Our time runs short. All of you, evaluate your strengths and give them voice. Perhaps we may still find our way."
Ren Sato, the old drift king, spoke first. "I drive cars very well."
Aurelia cocked an eyebrow. "'Cars'?"
Ren Sato paused, taking a moment to rephrase for an ancient audience as Yancey had earlier. "Like a chariot with no horses, made from metal."
Aurelia nodded, "I understand. Interesting, but we will have to see if any 'cars' are even present in this other world. You," she continued, gesturing to Faust, "What are your abilities?"
Faust's emotionless face turned to her, and for a moment Yancey didn't think he'd even respond. "I can animate the dead, and heal wounds. My combat abilities are the highest amongst our ranks." He didn't mention anything about bringing evil spirits up. Is he keeping aces hidden, or even plotting against us? Yancey wondered.
Aurelia brightened, "At least we have some combative force. Any others with combat expertise?"
Conner Smith spoke up, "I commanded over a dozen tanks-- huge cars that can shoot explosions-- across the field of war."
Aurelia's face, as quickly as it had brightened, fell. "A fellow strategist. Unfortunately, we have no need for further command."
"And why the hell not?! And I'm guessing you're saying that you're in charge, huh?" Conner spat.
