The cyborg released a synthetic roar, something like scraping metal echoing through a wind-tunnel, "Filthy bio! Do not speak as if you have already won. If cowardly tactics are what you employ, then so be it. We can do the same,"

Conner stretched his arms behind himself, pressing fists into the small of his back. Stretching. He released a groan of pleasure, pressing his hips forward as he replied, "Do whatever you want. No matter how hard you try, or how far you're willing to sink to win, do you really think you have a chance to defeat the team who crushed the top contenders before your team even got here?"

The cyborg stepped back, grimacing, "So it is true. We had heard word that they had fallen. Used some form of trickery, I'm sure," Suddenly, the cyborg held a hand up to its fleshy ear, pressing a finger into the lobe, "I can't return yet. No! I must settle this now," Yancey realized it was talking to somebody else, losing focus on Conner who stood before it. The cyborg stomped a temperamental foot into the ground, "They must pay for their cowardly assault, I have no concern for my survival if--" it paused, nodding its head.

Yancey felt bad for it. That tiny speck of an explosion on her horizon had been the death of its close friend, so it seemed. Her mind was so focused on this, she almost missed one major detail that the cyborg was entirely oblivious of: Conner wasn't stretching. After a few more pushes into his hips, he reached a hand down into his pants, the metal grip of a pistol flashing. And then, fast as a phantom, he snapped it up at the distracted cyborg. The laser fired multiple times, Conner unloading countless blasts of energy. The first struck a shoulder, sending the metal man reeling back. The armor that had been left within the building shot down, forming a wall to deflect the rest.

The metal man howled, screaming of pain, anger, and vengeance, "We had a ceasefire! You treacherous creature, have you no honor?"

Conner kept the pistol raised, reaching a hand down to grasp his rifle as he headed back towards the vehicle, "You'll rot in hell with your honor, kid. See where it got you so far, and you've only been here a few minutes,"

The cyborg managed to get to its feet. Yancey could see its shoulder smoking, arm hanging limp, eyes glowering at them with vengeance, "Perhaps, but we will meet again. I am the king of Hunters, and I'll track you to the ends of the earth, bio."

Conner swapped his pistol for the daunting rifle, taking a few shots at the armor that protected his foe, "King of Tanks. And if you ever get within 12 miles of me again, I'd be very appreciative. Gotta beat my previous headshot record I just set on your buddy somehow,"

The cyborg released a distorted scream, attempting to come after them but the armor shifted to block it. Conner released blasts of energy towards it as Mr. Sato started to pull away. In that moment, Yancey realized she recognized the pistol that Conner had been firing; it was hers. She felt over her pants to make sure, confirming its disappearance. The moment Conner had strung an arm over her shoulders came back. It was a common technique used by thieves, distracting their target while they lifted possessions off of them. Conner set the rifle down and scooped the pistol off the floor, pulling a cartridge as the cyborg faded into the horizon. Her temper flared but she kept quiet.

Not for want of confrontation, but because she was scared of this man. He would go to any lengths to win, and if Yancey made herself into an obstacle on that path, she knew he'd remove her without a second thought. Conner eyed the cartridge he'd pulled from the weapon, stuffing the rest into the back of his pants. He slipped that cartridge into his metal device, brining up a hologram map that displayed a red dot at the point they'd come from.

"Tagged his ass. I was kinda skeptical about how well a tracker implanted in a bolt of energy would preform, but looks like it's giving us a steady bead on his current location," Conner announced, and Aurelia climbed from the front seat into the middle, pressing herself between Yancey and Adoltlin.
