Meredith Tozier was home from university. After a medical emergency, she had three weeks off. She'd decided to come home and see her family, she missed her parents and her younger brother.
She was eating toast with jam and reading War and Peace when she heard the door slam and Richie run out of his room.

"Eds! I'm sorry!" Richie yelled out the living room window.

"Fuck off!" Yelled someone from outside.

"See you at school, bitch!" Richie yelled before slamming the window shut.

"Girl trouble, boy trouble or friend trouble?" Meredith asked.

"Two out of three,Ditty." Richie sighed before sticking his finger in the jam.

"That's gross. What have your friends done?"

"Bev is stressed about her aunt's bills,Stan is being weird,Bill is being equally weird,Mike's grandfather has terminal cancer and Eddie and I had sex yesterday."

"Ew. What about the fat one?"

"Ben is actually super hot now, otherwise fine." Richie buttered some toast and sat down next to Meredith.

"So. Who do you want to talk about now?" Meredith questioned.

"No one. I'm gonna be late. I love you, don't die." Richie grabbed his bag and tied his hair up before running out the door.

It was the last day of school before the summer holidays. Richie came to school sporting a black eye.

"Looking better than usual,Tozier." Stan mocked.

"Wish I could say the same for you,Uris." Richie shot back, nodding at Stan's frizzier-than-usual hair.

"How did you get that?" Bev pointed at Richie's swollen eye.

"I ran into a tree. Again."

"Where's Eddie?" Ben asked.

"Sonia probably thinks he has the bubonic plague." Richie said.

"Just because you fucked him doesn't mean that he necessarily caught your condition." Stan quipped.

"That was kinda lousy Stan. Where were you last night? I called for the answers to the Biology excercise." Bev asked.

"Oh,the phone line broke or something." Stan replied.

"Can phone lines break?" Eddie had arrived.

"Maybe. Ask Richie,he's the tech savvy one." Bill smiled.

"I would rather die." Eddie scowled.

The last day of school was fun. They'd had to have the graduation ceremony four days ago and all of the Losers graduated.

After getting people to sign their year books (Ben's was full of girls phone numbers) ,they walked in the vague direction of the quarry.

"Why do we spend so much of the summer here?" Mike asked.

"I don't know? It's quiet and pretty and the water's cool,it's nice I guess." Eddie answered.

Mike nodded as they continued walking towards the large pool of green-blue water.

Bev took off her sandals and dipped her toes in the water. She yelped at the cold.

"Gods almighty! That's as frigid as-" Bev laughed as Eddie cut her off

"Y'all coming in or not?" Richie's voice was muffled by his shirt.

He stripped down to his boxers and ran up to the highest rock, closely followed by Bev and Mike. Eddie,Ben and Bill preferred to swim out to the deepest area from the shore.
