"Scott? Wake up." I opened my eyes to see Carter in front of me. I immediately checked to make sure Mitch was covered. I didn't want Carter to see his body. I pulled the blanket up to his shoulder. My beautiful human. I looked back at my master.

"What do you want?" I whispered.

"Can we talk alone?" Carter glanced at Mitch. I tried to slip out of Mitch's arms without waking him up.

"Scott?" Mitch opened his eyes when my body left the bed.

"I'll be back darling. Go back to sleep." I gave him a short kiss. I brushed his hair away from his face. He reluctantly went back to sleep. "Why are you waking me up?" I had slipped on a pair of pants. Carter had his arms crossed over his chest when I stepped out of the room.

"Just shut up and listen." We stood in silence for awhile.

"I don't und-" He put his hand against my chest and I heard it. My heartbeat. It was constant.

"You're not a demon anymore Scott." My eyes fell to the floor. "And I can't change you back. It's been too long."

"How did you know?" His hand dropped, a loud sigh escaping him.

"Our bond was broken. Late last night. When you....when you had sex with Mitch. He was the one that was turn you human again." I've only known the majority of my life as a demon. How was I suppose to live like this? I was a horrible human being. "I'm so sorry Scott."

"What does this mean for Mitch?"

"You're both in danger. When you were a demon, you were strong. Now, you can't protect yourself and you can't protect Mitch. But I can protect both of you. Not here though."

"Mitch won't leave his family."

"If he wants them to be safe....he has to." I motioned for Carter to follow me inside. I went to sit on Mitch's side of the bed.

"Mitch. Wake up." Mitch turned to look at me with a sleepy groan. "We have to go." He sat up. I smiled at the sight of him in my shirt.

"How long are you going be away?" I felt my eyebrows draw together.

"I mean we including you." He looked confused for a couple of seconds.

"W-what? I can't leave my family."

"Mitch." I accidentally snapped. I took a deep breath when I saw his frightened expression. "I can't protect you anymore."

"What do you mean?"

"I'm human." His hand went over where my heart was beating. It was strong.

"This doesn't change anything. I still love you Scott."

"And I still love you but we have to leave. I have to think about your safety first." I tried not to let my newly formed emotions take over me.

"And I'm helping." Carter cut in. "I'm not leaving a friend out to get torn to shreds. That's exactly what those bastards will do." Mitch slipped his hand into mine. He was scared.

"I will die before anything happens to you." I let my forehead rest against his.

"Scott...."

"They'll be safe if you're not there."

"Do I get to say goodbye?" I nodded. Carter snapped his fingers so Mitch was clothed. Then Carter helped us appear in Mitch's room and I held the demon's hand so no one could see me. Then I watch Mitch sat goodbye to his sister. "Callie?"

"Hi Mitchie." She went back to playing with her dolls. He pulled her into a hug from behind.

"I love you. Please always remember that."

"Why are you crying?"

"I'm going to be gone for awhile." It sounded like Mitch was confessing that he was going to commit suicide.

"Like mom and dad gone?"

"No." He was playing with her hair. "Just for awhile. I have to go talk to grandma now. I love you Cal." He kissed her temple.

"Don't die." Mitch rushed pass Carter and I with his hand covering his mouth. He rushed down to the kitchen to find his grandma and we followed after.

"Grandma?" The old woman turned around to look at Mitch.

"Sweetie? Where have you been?" He moved away from his grandma trying to comfort him.

"It's not important. I have to talk to you." His voice cracked. "I'm leaving."

"What?! Why?!"

"It's complicated grandma but....Scott will keep me safe." She suddenly became angry.

"Mitch, did he hurt you? Did he touch you?"

"He didn't hurt me. Yes to the second question but-"

"I knew he would sucker you into something. I should have never turned my eye away from you dating an older boy. I-"

"I'm in danger grandma. Scott is the only one who can help me. I love him."

"We're your family!" Mitch let out a loud sob.

"I understand that but-"

"You don't leave your family Mitch!"

"I'm trying to protect you! I'm trying to protect Callie!" He was nervously playing with his hands. "I'm doing this because I can't see you dead."

"What kind of trouble have you got into sweetie?"

"I can't tell you. I have to go. I love you." Mitch started for the front door and I couldn't wait to comfort him. I hated seeing tears in his eyes.

"If you walk out that door, don't ever come back." Mitch ran out the door with tears streaming down his face. I tugged Carter along until I could reveal myself. Then I went to hug my crying boyfriend.

"I want to go far away from here. I want it to be you and me." I wiped his tears away with my thumbs.

"Mitch...."

"I love you. So much." I didn't like the fact that he was ignoring his sadness. "Please take me away."

"I...."

"I'm sore. I'm tired. I'm mentally drained. I don't want to talk about it." He was hugging me close. "Not now. Just take me home." I grabbed Carter's hand so he could take us to a new location. Then I helped Mitch up to the bedroom. He curled into the bed. As I shut the door, I heard Mitch beginning to cry loudly. I wish he didn't have to leave his family behind.
