12- Pain in my cASSon

"How was your girls night?" Chase and I hadn't spoken at all last night, so we have to fill each other in on the way to school the next day.

I wave my hand. "Oh, you know. We talked, we laughed, we cried," We went to the dark movies on a not double date and it was totally casual... but I leave that part out for good measure. "I had fun. What about you?"

Chase stops at the traffic light and makes an exasperated sound. "Well honey, you domesticated me. They wanted to party and drink and I was having trouble keeping up. Don't get me wrong, it was awesome seeing the dudes, but they didn't let me talk about you at all. And, I am one to brag so it was difficult to not talk about my girl." He put his hand on my leg and squeezed, all the while smiling at me. 

Part of me thinks I should tell him about the totally not double date, because clearly I was just a mere wingwomen. It's hard stuff, but you do what you have to do for the ones you love... "Oh yeah, funny story about last nigh-"

"Hey my Mom and sister aren't gonna be home tonight, lets have a slumber party! We can talk about the boys we think are cute and give eachother mani pedi's!" He interrupts in a girly voice. "What do you think babe?" What do I think? WHAT?  I think this is another sexcapade and I don't know how to weasle my way out of it. Do I want to weasle my way out of it? I have no idea. Chase obviously sees my hesitation, because he adds "Seriously, I just want to spend time with you."

Well who's the awful one now? I quickly agree and we fill the rest of the ride with some music. A night with this beautiful boy actually sounds amazing. After we pull into his parkingspace, he puts both of his hands on my face and kisses me. It was one of those kisses that you would pop you leg up to if this was the princess diaries. I slipped my arm around him, bringing us closer. I could feel that tingle... you know, that one. It was only for a fleeting second though, because our kiss was broken up but someone catcalling us.

"Alright you two horndogs, cut it out!" I could recognize that voice anywhere... it was the one I unaffectionately will refer to as the pain in my Casson. He eyes Chase for a moment before saying "What's up Montangy?"

"Hey dude. How's junior year coming along? Ha, I remember when I was a mere baby like you." And cue the smirk. 

Next, Casson very obviously checks me out. "Well hello there gorgeous, you look better than you did last night." He finishes the sentence with a wink. Now, this is about the time that I start having a panic attack. I knew I should have told Chase about last night... now he'll find out from the scumbag himself. He looks from Casson to me, slowly.

"What are you talking about, little one?" 

The look of pure happiness appears on Casson's face. "Oh, you mean Kenz didn't tell you about our little rendevue? We saw a movie together. It was intimate. But no worries bro, she totally played hard to get... for a while. Right sweetie?" Both sets of eyes land on me. 

Okay McKenna, be cool. Think of a way to get out of this mess without sounding guilty. I mean- I am not guilty. I should be honest. Yeah, okay. Honesty. I throw down an eye roll before I explain. "Oh, you mean when you wanted to tag along on Jess' date so, out of pity, I went to a movie with a group of people that happened to include you?" Smiling, I use my killer line, "My favorite part of the night was when I gave you a bloody nose, what about you?"

There... that should do it, right? I hope so. I look to Chase first, eyeing his reaction. His face is a shade or two darker and his fist is clenched. So I might have saved myself a little, but not enough.

Casson on the otherhand, is astonished. His mouth dropped open and he's standing there like a fish out of water. At this point, people in Chase's friend group have gathered and are looking at us like an exhibit in the zoo. Perfect, this is just how I want my day to be going. I got a few claps for the bloody nose comment, but not much else.
