Virgil was not in school the next day. Patton and roman were sat in the theatre at lunch. "Did you text him?" Patton asked tapping his phone on his leg quickly. Roman nodded in response. "Why isn't he answering?" Patton asked to no one in particular. "What if something happened to him? What if he's in danger? What if-" Patton was cut off by a tight hug by Roman. "I'm sure he's fine. His phone probably died or something." Roman tried to sound reassuring but he knew what he saw and was freaking out as well. The two became silent for a couple of minutes before Romans phone buzzed. He jumps and Patton looked up hopefully. Roman opened the message shaking slightly. Patton was edging closer to see. Roman sighed. "It's from Remus. A photo. It's neither a dick pick he was meant to send to Deceit or some vandalism he did." Roman opened the photo and studied it for a second before tears fell down his face. "Oh...my...god..." he said quietly.
"What is it? Roman what is it?" Patton said close to crying. Roman wasn't listening. He was shaking violently and he dropped his phone. Patton picked it up. Another text came from Remus.
Remus: I told Patton he would pay.
Patton opened the photo and tears fell down his face. "No..."

{earlier that day}

Virgil walked down his street his hoodie wrapped around him tightly. He didn't know where he was going. He couldn't go to school, he couldn't stay home, he couldn't be anywhere. He ran off to a local park that was close to his house, about 10 minutes away. He walked there and sat on an empty bench. He looked at the empty park. It wasn't that warm seen as it was early autumn. Virgil pulled his sleeves over his hand and tried to work with his hair. He pulled his phone out of his pocket, it was on 16%. He didn't have time to charge it, he just got up and ran out of the house. He hated how roman saw a bit of what happened. Normally it would be worse. Virgil tried to shake the thought from his mind. His phone buzzed a couple of times.
Two new messages from Patton
Three new messages from Roman
One new messages from Remus
Virgil sighed. Roman and Patton must be worried about him. And he dreaded what Remus sent him. He ignored the messages and got up.
Virgil sat in a tree on a low branch when he saw two figures walking toward him. He instantly knew it was Deceit and Remus so he hopped off the beach and sprinted off away from them. He was one of the quickest boys in his year but he knew Deceit and Remus were smart. They had planned something out. Virgil ran into the forest and started climbing a tree. He felt something grab his ankle and pull him down. He landed on his back knocking the breath out of him. He sat up and coughed looking around. Remus was in front of him and Deceit was behind him. The picked up a struggling Virgil and carried him over to the river. "It's fucking autumn, you wouldn't dare- roman..."
"Roman wouldn't do shit." Remus cut across. "He doesn't care about you, he just pities you, he doesn't like you. He only cares about his drama and theatre, pathetic."
"That's not true." Virgil said kicking out. "He does care."
"When was the last time he told you that?" Deceit said. Virgil fell silent. Tears pricked in his eyes. He refused to let them fall. He pulled a leg free from remus' grip and kicked him in the face. Remus dropped his legs and Virgil pulled away from Deceit running off. Remus ran off close behind him with Deceit following. Deceit skidded to a stop and ran in a different direction hoping to catch Virgil. Virgil darted around trees and jumped a low wall running into a field. Virgil turned around to see if either of them were following. He couldn't see anyone so he stopped to catch his breath. A bush beside him moved a bit and he jumped back. A cat emerged from the bush and Virgil smiled dropping two his knees and stroking thee cat. The cat nudged against his hand and purred quietly. "Such a cute cat." He said to himself. Virgil had always loved cats and was happy when one came up to him. The cat rolled around. Before standing up and running off. Virgil smiled sadly and got up and looked around again. The field was quiet still. Thinking he was safe he took a path back to the forest. He admired the beauty of the trees and wildlife. He got to the park and looked around hesitantly. He took a step towards the park looking around more. He didn't see anyone so he just walked off casually. Virgil walked down a couple of streets before he was grabbed and pulled into an alleyway. Deceit pinned him against the wall and Remus came into the light. "Thought you could hide?" He asked in a mocking tone. He smiles a bit and hit Virgil across the face. He drew blood the first time. Virgil was still hurting from the day before and couldn't deal with the two again today. "It's Pattons fault. We did warn him." Remus started.
"Shut up. It's no ones fault except yourselves." Virgil said louder than he expected. This earned him another three more hits.
This went on for at least two hours and Virgil was curled up on the floor a couple of ribs broken, his wrist hurting more and cuts and bruises all over his face, arms and stomach. Remus took a quick photo and sent it to Roman. "Just a reminder for him of what we're capable of." Remus said walking off followed by Deceit. Virgil wiped a couple of tears from him face and got up. He grabbed his phone to text roman but it was dead. He sat up against the wall and cried. He didn't want to deal with this anymore.
